Default squashed sill flanges

im sat here with a hangover gazing out at my car in the rain and thinking about how perfect she is!

but at some point in its life someone decided to jack the front end up by the sills, and as a result the flanges on the sills behind the front wheels have been folded over a bit.

you dont notice it really and ive seen loads of cars with the same thing, but it just irritates me!

anyone ever tried folding them straight again? im thinking the metal might snap if you try....

Both of mine are like that!
I've seen loads of others like it too.

I had mine folded back by a bodyshop after the NZ importers used a forklift to lift the car for inspection!!!

I rushed off a kerb outside work when the council were re-tarmacing the road, 3 days after getting my octy and killed them. That was nearly 2 years ago, they're still like it now.

Mine are both folded over... I don't see much point in repairing them as the mechanic I use has a two post lift which picks the car up by the sills anyway.

I wonder how mines been able to escape this wrath, careful owners and garages maybe. My cars been way up in the air when fitting new rear springs etc on 2 jacks on the sills (albeit with large, rubberised feet).

its when u jack them up nearer the edge. mine slipped off causing the sill edge to bend. there isnt a clear place to jack them up. i used a standard jack which tbh i hate as it looks unsafe to start with. i use my trolley jack when at home now.
