This is a discussion on Superchips within the Octavia I forums, part of the Skoda Model Discussion Area category; Simple question: Has anyone on here had their Tdi superchipped? And if so, was it worth it?...

| If you have a look on the Fabia forum many people have had the Fabia Vrs remaped by many different tuning companies with incrediable results. Tuning 'plug in' boxes are also available for the TDI's with good powergains and very simple to fit.

| I've got a Dragon digital tuning box on my Fabia vRS...... Gives an approx 30HP gain cost £200 from Dragon with a 3 year warranty and can be fitted / removed in 10-20 mins. They also sell on for anything upto £150-180 second hand. Cheers Dave.

| Many years ago I had a Clio 16V ‘Superchipped’ and they nearly bust the engine. They tried 3 different chips as the car pinked on pulling away from a standstill! They also recommended I junked my straight through SS exhaust (meaning I had to buy a whole new system) and in the end took the chip out and told me they couldn’t do anything for me. I lost several hundred pounds because of them and the local R.R. boys checked the car with their (Superchips) chip in it and said there was so much advance in the engine timing, they were surprised the engine didn’t run backwards. Hope they have improved these days. |

| Thanks for the replies folks, they've been quite helpful. At the moment, I'm toying with the idea of having mine done at some point next year. The superchip website indicates that mine would go up from 90BHP to 116BHP and is quoted at £500, although I know I'd probably be able to get it for a fair bit less. I'll have a trawl through the Fabia forum and see what peoples responses/thoughts are on it. |
