| Octavia VRS Can anyone tell me how to replace the sidelight bulb in the xenon headlight fitting? I have searched the forum and can find where this question has been asked before but with no sensible replies. The owner manual tells you to take the car to a service agent to have the bulb replaced. Surely it must be possible for me to change the bulb without too much hassle. Does the bumper need to be removed to take out the light fitting to give access to the bolted rear cover on the light fitting or is there a simple way to do it? |

| i dunno about the VRS with xeonon lights, but in my standard 2001 TDi I can just access the bulbs from under the bonnet from behind the headlight cluster. I assume the xenon bit means tha bulbs are self leveling, but surely that should not affect the ease of a DIY change? |

| thanks for the info wrc81-stu. You have confirmed my suspicion about taking the light fitting out. Do you need to remove it completely by dropping the bumper or is there enough room to remove the rear light cover with the fitting jammed as far forward as possible without the bumper dropped? |

| You need to take it out, don't need to do owt to the bumper. Did mine, took about 15 mins per side. Just be careful of the washer jets. Oh, and the high voltage ![]()
