| Hi after my failed attemt a week ago in buying a used Superb 1.9td, I've now turn my attention to a Skoda Octavia 1.6FSI. But given the never ending increase in the cost of fuel I was wondering if anybody knew whether it is possible to convert to LPG? It it a good idea in the first place? At the moment I reckon I do about 15k a year, so hope to cover the cost of any conversion within 1-1.5 year. |

| As it's a petrol you can definitely get it converted. ![]() At 15k a year, I reckon it will take 2+ years to get back any install costs. It would really pay dividends if you did a great deal of mileage.

| My father was at a Skoda dealer a week or two ago checking out the option for an Octavia with LPG. The sales person told him that LPG indeed cannot be combined with an FSI engine, and the only option is to combine it with the 1.6 MPI engine. Unfortunately the sales person was unable to explain clearly what the reason is that LPG is not supported on a FSI engine type, other than that it doesn't work. |

| Would have thought by now a big manufacturer as VAG would have the option of LPG. The recent show at rockingham the did show off VW's running biodiesel tho. |

| I looked into this the other week and because the FSI is a 'direct injection' engine there is no LPG conversion available (at the moment at least). So I will be purchasing a diesel and running it on 100% bio just as I have my 130 BHP 1.9 TD1 A3 for the last 2 years. Mr L ![]() |

| This keeps coming up, it's the 3rd thread so far, I think. Maybe it should be stickied.
