From what I was told when ordering mine, there are no plans for the DSG with the 1.8FSI

I reckon it's a deliberate move by VAG myself, to keep DSG combos to the more sporty/premium parts of the group.

Could just me being cynical of course....

I can't see the 1.8TSI getting the DSG box any time soon as it's a pretty quick car with that engine and it will trample on other parts of the VAG territory.

Where's Mike?

You can get it on a boggo 1.9 TDi octy, surely the L&K and vRS cover the sporty/premium side of things more than a base model ?

The 1.9 is 105bhp. To compete with VW they would have to sell the L&K with the 170TDI engine plus DSG - not in a million years.

The fitting of auto boxes in the current VAG range is a variable feast.
For the 1.8TSI auto is available on the Passat and for the new 1.4TSI engine it's available on the Golf but not on the Leon or the Audi A3.

Answers on a postcard please.

I guess we are not in enough of a recession to require DSG on all cars
