| I'd expect it to be more shallow.

| Yeah it is. me and 4x4mark noticed this on me coding his keys. Can only think its the rear wheel setup that reduces space EDIT: I was taliking about the mk1, sorry. DOH! ![]()

| Hi We run a Octy 2 4x4 estate and also the company Octy 1 Tour estate, and its in the boot area head room where the difference is. This is due to the slope of the rear window, making the 4x4 appear smaller I find no other difference. ------------------------------------ Octy 2, 1.9 TDI PD Ambiente 4x4 Combi and Nissan Sunny 2.0 DLX, Company Octy 1.9 TDI Tour Combi. |

| Hi I don't think there's any difference - I was in the dealer today with my OctII 4x4 and looking in the standard car the boot appeared identical. The 4x4 still has the full size spare wheel well under the boot floor, room for the false floor option and a vast boot. ________________________ Oct II 1.9 TDI PD 4x4; Oct Scout |

That was my thinking. That Skoda built in the space for the running gear already. Just trying to disprove some idiot at work that's risking having the octy reemoved from the company car list simply because they want a Mondy. Aparently same idiot says mondy boot is bigger, which it isnt. It's smaller, and it's cheaper and could get an L&K for what they're paying for a base Mondy.... ![]()

| I test drove the mondy and the octavia back to back on 24 hr test drives when picking my new company car in January...It might be car of the year but the build quality is rubbish (the whole center console moved from side to side) it is underpowered (1.8 TDCi 125PS) and the boot IS smaller (h/b to h/b)...Octy was the only choice!!

| This was one of the questions I asked when purchasing mine - according the the specs in the brochures the load capacity was the same as for non-4x4 estates. If you have the false floor fitted (highly recommended) that'll eat into some space, but it can easily be removed if required. Of more interest is Quote:
) came with the space saver version- I've assumed that a full size alloy wheel wouldn't fit ![]() Last edited by No Waiting; 07-05-2008 at 08:52.

| I agree with "no waiting" our 4x4 also came with a space saver wheel. ------------------------------------ Octy 2, 1.9 TDI PD Ambiente 4x4 Combi and Nissan Sunny 2.0 DLX, Company Octy 1.9 TDI Tor Combi. |

| don't know about the mk2 but the mk1 had a smaller boot in 4x4 spec as it lost the hidden shelf. and they don't build the car ready for 4x4 as they have a different floor pan/fuel tanks/rear suspension etc etc

| The full size spare was a cost option, but the space would be the same size - you have to put the flat tyre somewhere when you change it!
