| Hi I've only had my Octy a few weeks, but have noticed that sometimes when turning the engine off and removing the key from the ignition, there was a clicking that came from all four doors - made me jump the first time it did it! This week I'd left a window open when I removed the key from the ignition and realised that the clicking is something to do with the eclectic windows, as the window I'd left open automatically closed; quite a useful feature. However, I can't find any way of regularly replicating this - sometimes I hear the clicking, other times not. I had a look though the manual and the only reference to automatic window closing I could find relating to holding down the lock/unlock button on the key fob. Does anyone else's car do this? Is this a standard window closing feature and if so how can I get it to reliably work? Thanks Ade |

| Don't know if this is the reason or not, but if you have the "auto lock/anti hijacking" feature enabled, then when you remove the ignition key there is a click from all doors as they unlock. Corespondingly there is a click when all doors lock when you drive off (i think it is above about 4mph) To operate the "total window closure" feature, you shut the doors and press and hold the lock button on the remote untill they all close. You can also do the revers by pressing and holding the unlock button untill all the windows open! Alternativly you can do this by using the key in the door lock and holding it in the lock possition to close the windows & the open position to open them. Not sure if this helps! |

| On the fob lock, if you have maxidot or I assume this can be set via VAGcon, mine totally closes the windows with a single button press, then sets the alarm. |

| Hi - no, it's not the doors unlocking - that always happens the second I take the key out the ignition. This noise I trying to suss out is louder as is four loud clicks that you can hear coming from each door in turn. On the occasion I happended to have the window open it automatically closed. What really confuses me is it doesn’t always do it. PS apologies – I seem to have managed to two separate threads on this topic |

| I am pretty sure it`s the rain closing feature. If you take out the ignition key and its raining, all windows close ore try to close(if they already are closed.) Same thing happens if the car is locked and it starts raining. This feature can be switched on and off via Maxidot. Last edited by ArvidG; 21-04-2007 at 22:02. |

| Hi, i noticed the same in my skoda. The sound is (when the windows closed) about trial to close windows, but as those windos closed it is just a sound of trial. To prove, try to close window when it is closed already with button in the door, you will hear the same sound For me it is unclear the reguliarity : sometime windows closes, sometimes not - i think it depends on , how quickly after the engine off you removing the key from the ignition. But i can not catch that moment always ))I think it is a standard window closing feature , bu i do not know also how can I get it to reliably work |

| To cut a long story short - if the auto wipers think it has rained (or you use the washers), when you turn off and remove the key the auto window closure will fire. It does it on mine sometimes, even if it rained ages ago when I was driving.

| Yep, had the same noise on mine - turning off rain closing stopped it. I believe it is related to the rain sensor, although my windows would 'click' even in bright sunshine!
