Default Bridgestone Tyres

My Octavia has BridgestoneB360 (I think they are)
God are they noisy. They treat every road surface as a song sheet and have a different noise for each.

I'm sick of the constant drub drub noise which I have checked out as not my engine gearbox or wife.(By slipping them into neutral)

I should say that it is only above about 75 when on the Continent but that makes it more annoying because of the high speeds for long distances that are possible.

Or could it be body shell throb. Whatever it is it is not pleasant.

Any ideas, please.

Try some other tyres.

I find michelin pilot exalto 2 quiet on the octy I, but if you have a search on here you will find a list of what different people have tried on their cars.

Tyres basically boil down to personal preferences. Those that seem to get mentioned favourably most are Toyo Proxes TR1's, Goodyear Eagle F1's & Michelin PS2's. As 'Cheezy' says, try a search and there are all manner of threads on the subject.

When I first test drove Octy 2 I had a headache after half an hour of it.... My old Mk 1 was significantly quieter in terms of road noise. The Bridgestone tyres are far too noisy - The tyres are widely quoted on this site as being the culprits... If you find a piece of new smooth tarmac you realise how refined this car could be. I used a sound deadening kit form noise killer in my Estate, it helped a lot, the road noise from the tyres is still present but the sound deadening takes the "hard" note away. There are some expanses of very "drummy" panel work under back seats and boot which certainly could do with some sound-proofing. It is also about a third of the price of changing all the tyres. That said UK road surfaces are noisier than most in Europe.... all the cars I have ever had always felt more expensive when wafting along a French pay motorway. Sadly I have to say I am disappointed that Skoda couldn't manage to give us tyres to better suit what is in every other way a refined car which is excellent value for money... the only real answer is spend another £xoo on 5 new tyres - or get used to recognising the symphony of different rumbles priovided by out rubbish road surfaces.
