| I've installed a new head unit in my Octavia mark II and the only thing left to do is connect it to my dashboard/light illumination switch so that when I switch my lights on at night, the head unit dims its display. There is an orange lead that comes out from the head unit so I guess I need to connect that to the light switches or the fuse box. What kind of cable should I buy (or make) and where should I connect it to in order to make use of the dimmer functionality? ![]() |

| IIRC the dimmer facilty would simply need to 'see' 12V when the headlights are turned on so you want to pick up 12v from the dashboard illumination somewhere or from the headlight switch.

| Thanks guys. I'd already seen the ISO connections and it looks like I need pin 6 on connector A. The problem is that the CAN-BUS to ISO adapter that I got from Skoda doesn't seem to use all pins so I may have to get a separate adapter or get the signal from another connector. |
