Default Different xenon bulbs?

I have always liked the bluey tinge to xenons, such as the ones my Fabia had, however my Octy ones (OEM) are really just a pure white. Is there any way to retrofit slighty more blue tinged HID bulbs? IIRC my Fabia ones were 6000k (aftermarket) but I think that 4700k would still be an improvement over the 3xxxk that standard are?

Thanks.

the best bulb for brightness and colour will be GE 5100k. I had an omega which had 4000k bulbs in and put 5100k bulbs in and the difference was obvious. A lot more blue but still very bright (only lost about 35 lumens Light) you can get them online for around £100 for a pair.

Also try HIDS4U Ltd, Leeds, UK for all HID and Xenon lighting kits and conversions they do replacement bulbs aslong as you know the specific type of bulb.

I find my 10000K blubs stay very light blue and give off loads of light.

Look much better than OEM in my opinion.

Im not calling you a liar but i doubt your bulbs are 10000K. They would be so purple you would get stopped by the police all the time.

You have probably been sold 6000k as 10000k (a common mistake by many websites and Ebay as they dont measure the colour temperature correctly.)

The easiest way to check is if you know anyone with a new 5 Series BMW or the new RangeRover put your car next to theirs and put both sets of lights on. If yours is similar to theirs then you will have 6000k.

8000k is the maximum allowed legally for road use. Anything over that is for show use only.

We use 10000k and 12000k bulbs in work for certain bits of "military equipment" and they are definately not blue in colour and were nowhere near as bright as the lights in my old Omega.

Don't forget the further you go down to the blue end of the spectrum the more you compromise useable light from the xenons, granted they will look better but the performance will suffer. Stick near the OEM ranges where possible.
