| I will keep this a brief as possibe . . . Engine management light came on the other day , after a quik phone call to the garage they advised me that i could still drive the car (as long as it was running normal) , no loss of power ect and that the fault was prob down to a faulty sensor , anyway 10 mins later it went off . Took it in today for them to check it over and the guy said it was showing the fault on the computer plug in thing but it was now cleared , however sods law its come back on this evening on my way home , rang them back and basically cant get it in til next friday but still say its ok to drive , unless it starts to feel roughWhat should i do , still drive it or not ![]() vRSphil has kindly arranged to meet me later to plug in his VAG to see whats up with it . . . fingers crossed

| This happened to me on my vRS TDI the other day (Sunday ), light came on and refused to go out, but car drove perfectly normally. Rang Skoda Assistance who were going to send usual RAC guy and then got a call 20 mins later from them saying that due to nature of problem they would prefer to send a fully qualified Skoda technician to look at it but wouldnt be able to come until Monday morning, fortunately I was not working Monday so said ok. Mechanic turned up at 0815 in the morning ! and diagnosed a blocked sensor tube (apparently said sensor monitors the pressure either side of the Cat and can get blocked with sooty particles which screws the readings) Problem resolved by blowing compressed air though the relevant bit and Hey Presto ! all now ok. Credit to Skoda Assistance for recognising that engine lights on vRS TDI's seem to require more 'know how' than normal, and credit to the guy who turned up so early in the pouring rain ![]() Edit: forgot to add, if its under warrenty get Skoda Assistance to come to you rather than you going to the garage ![]() |

| Keep the driving to a minimum until VAG-COM sheds a little light on the situation, the CEL is of course there for a reason. DO you have something in writing from the dealer saying it's ok to drive?

| Exhaust pressure sensor isnt uncommon. Either the sensor is knackered (more than likely) or the vacuum pipes have become blocked. Conveniance faults are well worth clearing and forgetting about. these later cars seem to store hundreds of them and basically if there is no obvious fault I usually clear them.

| I had my 'emissions' warning light come on 10 days ago, followed a mile or so later by the 'DPF regeneration' light as well. Called out Skoda Assistance/RAC and found Exhaust gas pressure sensor fault and DPF regeneration required. We dealt with the latter on a 15 mile road test and the RAC man then cleared the 'emissions' light and said all was well. Last night; the emissions light came on again, at least it stayed on after starting the car! Drove to work this morning and no further lights came on, phew. I've the car booked in with my dealer for tomorrow (Thursday); so we'll be able to compare notes.

| Nothing to worry about there then. It's common to get that fault on the interior sensors if you scan with the door open. The emmisions one is probably a faulty sensor.

Turns out the 'emissions' light was on for 'an intermittent DPF fault' and not either of the Exhaust gas sensor or connection pipe blocked. Its likely that this is a hangover from 10 days ago when, although the RAC man had cleared the warning light he had not reset the fault core record. Anyway; dealer says light is off, nothing to replace and he advised that I drive in 'DPF Regen' mode on my way home on the M'way; he actually offered to take the car out on a drive this afternoon to do this, but as I know what needs to be done and I go on the M'way myself I said "Don't bother". Fingers crossed. ![]()

| Lucky you , had to get the R.A.C tonight to mine , same fault again the exhaust pressure sensor , back in tomorrow to get them to have a look at it , doesnt feel right when its running . The R.A.C guy did all the checks with the V.A.S thing and it only showed the above two faults , he recommends taking it in A.S.A.P

![]() Sorry to hear you still have problems. Rough running is a fair sign that you have something up. Good luck getting it sorted.

| Argh !! I spoke too soon. Started the car this morning and the emissions light did not do out! This is despite doing the 15 miles M'way I use for my commute at 'DPF Regen' speed of 1,900rpm in 5th (57mph) on the way home last night; as advised. Oh well; better call my dealer in a while. ![]()
