| Still debating if to chose the Octavia 2.0L tdi pd 140 Hatchback as my next company car. I was told by LLoyds TSB auto leasing this car uses oil and I would need to top it up often. Im not sure what oil would be needed but the auto lease man said its exspensive. He also said if on an incline at traffic lights dont hold the car on the clutch as it overheats and causes problems. Any comments would be appreciated. Steve. |

| To be fair, you shouldn't hold ANY car on the clutch when sitting on an incline Does the Octavia have a specific overheating problem compared to other makes?

Im sure you would burn out any clutch using it to hold the car at traffic lights. Try using the handbrake, its cheaper | |

| My oil cost me £42 at Halfords. The next 4 litres cost me £28 after a bit of searching and asking around, and this was for a better spec. Using Goggle, the oil manufacturer explains the difference and what the numbers mean. I now have the next spec up as they sent me the wrong one, for the original price ![]() As for the car, definately recommend it. Maxi-dot is good, as is cruise. Xenons would be nice but you get a great car for a lower monthly tax outlay. |

| I bought a TD 140PD from new and have only used about 1/3 litre in 6000 miles, so I'm guessing some cars are more thirsty than others. I do tend to drive fairly long drives rather than lots of small jouneys so that might help |

| Agree about not holding a manual with the clutch on a hill, but also with a DSG gearbox, if you release the brake enough for the clutch to engage and leave it like that on a hill, holding the car on the "creep", the clutch can auto-disengage to prevent overheating and you be off rolling backwards!
