Default Evo Mag - 400Bhp Golf V 2.0TFSI

VW Golf | evo News | News | evo

I am looking around for a bit more info and have asked my contact at RZ Motoring in Orlando to do some more research as it's going over to their Tampa Bay shop for a show of some description.

Bigger garret Turbo ......... I wonder what else? I wonder what the gearbox will take on a 2.0T?

Any opinions chaps / chappesses, an Octy 2 vRS with that under the bonnet would be a cool sleeper (ish)

Big Turbo .................. droooooooooooooooool

Interesting to find out that the States has done the first publicised big turbo to a Golf GTI. I'm not aware of any other turbo swaps to the 2.0 TFSI anywhere else? How long until that turbo gets over here.

I somehow think that doubling the bhp with just a turbo is a little optimistic. I would think a decent FMIC would be needed, a very good exhaust system - mods to the air intake and filtration. Then an almighty decent bit of tuning.

There are a few turbo upgrade kits on the market but the US does seem to be leading the way with Golf GTi modding in every way.

400bhp and 340lb - Sounds like the torque has been limited as most mappers seem to offering circa 300lbft with just stage 1 software.

The internals would also need strengthening to take that kind of power.

How does the 20v compare to the 2ltr for tuning potential?

Apparently not it seems. I can't find any information to back that up anyway. looks like they whacked on a GT28 turbocharger, a quiaffe diff, some huge brakes, and a FMIC, exhaust etc.

Im ready and waiting for it
