| Well here it goes. 3 days old 600 miles done initial feelings as follows. Build quality- excellent not a rattle Gearbox- Smooth only one sixth downchange mess up Leg room- ample i'm 6:3 and I cant fully depress clutch when seat is fully back. Maxidot--nice and easy Light Assistance -- I'l let you know as it has done some weird things, but it might be me!!! ESP - Turned it off on Mountain Rd.Turned it back on , on Mountain rd !!! Ride - Smooth, very smooth , mind you anything would seem smooth compared to my old Zafira. Audio- not as good as my previous but i'l live with it Like -Everything bar below Dislikes----- Wipers look cheep but they are the same type as all new VAG cars presently built errr and thats it. Fuel Consumption 35-37mpg on 98 ron a mixture of City and Motorway used 95 ron 98 was'nt available and only got 32 on a crossscountry run. Major problem trying to drive at 3/4 revs as per running in instructions. 2.0fsi Corrado red with Maxidot. esp and Light thingy |

| What differences did you notice with ESP on and off? I am concerned it might "dull" the drive and take control too much. |

| [quote=Fabia 12v] ![]() Why is it worthless without pics? We all know what an Octavia looks like - that's no secret and how it drives, performs and "feels" is much more important than pics we can see on the usual boring thread! I want to know about driveability with ESP etc. |

The road I was on was using is often used by Magazines and Top Gear for Photo Shoots and Testing. Black Mountain Rd A4069 Brynamman to Llangadog in Dyfed 9 miles of Heaven sweeping bends good visibility and a couple of Hairpins thrown in for good measure. WARNING: Dont have a play on this rd on a sunday as its Biker City on the rd and Dyfed Powys Plod are hiding behind every bush!!!! | |

| ESP does not actually do a great deal when you are not on the limit. It kicks in when you overstep it and then attempts to sort it out. When you are very near the limit, and you are a capable driver, turning it off may be worth doing as you can push it over the limit a little sometimes, and control it yourself. Most of the time on the road though, I can't see you needing it turned off. Track use - well that's another matter ![]() On the automatic light assist - basically always turned on then I'm guessing ![]()

| ESP is OK to drive with. Turn it off if you want the back end to come into play or if you want to minimise the traction control's impact (don't know whether it turns it off completely). Won't let you left foot brake ![]()

| What is the description of? All I've managed to glean is that it's an Octavia of some sort, and that was an assumption by another user, not the original poster ... ![]() and the forum it's in of course ...

| Ah - I read that as his previous car - some kind of Corrado (because it was red, it looked like a signature line. Well, that's my excuse, anyway)
