Default Gas Bonnet Struts

Hi,
I saw a post on here a good few months back about gas bonnet struts for the Octy II but it seemed to just die. I was just wondering if anyone has actually fitted any and if so, how easy they were to fit, what modifications they needed to make to fit them and where they got them from (what price as well)?
Cheers

Depends what you consider 'enough'

I should check oil etc weekly at least based on mileage. Due to recent events I was opening/closing bonnet several times a day (that was not normal circumstances though).

It is more of a nice-to-have rather than a need-to-have though in fairness

I agree with that but my birthday is coming up and I fancied a treat . I've gone through a lot of screenwash these last few months and been checking oil weekly and it would be nice not to get so dirty when doing these little but frequent tasks.

There was talk of it but there was a problem with the struts not being suitable. I don't think it's dead yet but it may well prompt those that were looking at it to do so again.

Milotec fitted to mine: excellent: why not fitted as standard, I don't know: makes life easier, at minimal cost (I paid £43 for mine). It's a doddle to fit, as well, but you need two people to do it, unless you're an orang-utan with prehensile toes and VERY long arms!!!!!!

I have pretty much most of the information required and the idea to sort this out but i'm afraid time eludes me at the moment.

Can you enlighten us Stu? I want to do the same with mine. Lifting the bonnet at a car meet last week was embarrassing having to put up the stay when all the VW and Audi boys had the lifters....

It's simply a gas strut and a bracket.

I need to do some measurements and have a word with a friendly Briskodian about the brackets and it will hopefully be ok.
