| Handsfree kit install I am about to install a Nokia CK-7W handsfree kit into my Octy2 estate. I have read quite a bit on various threads and VRSTU's website, but I in the handbook it states that you should only disconnect the battery with the ignition switched on, is this correct? There are two fused leads with the kit, red (12 volt) which I intend to run this from No7 in the fuse box. Where is the best place to connect the blue wire (marked ignition) thanks in advance. |

| Re: Handsfree kit install When you look at the fuse box you should see a couple of the top sections of the slots are filled, many of these are available for use. Use a multi meter to find which are switched and which aren't.

| Re: Handsfree kit install Installed the Nokia CK-7W handsfree today, found that the unit fitted behind the ashtray assembly. I have adapted the microphone to fit in the interior light console, just need the parts to wire in the speaker lead & mute lead into the HU. |

| Re: Handsfree kit install There is quite a lot of space behind there isn't there. Similar behind the Climatronic panel too.

| Re: Handsfree kit install Has anyone else fitted the Nokia CK-7W? I have finished the installation, but I have no mute and no sound through the speakers. The bluetooth is connecting & the phone charges, but thats it. I have connected the red to 12 volt supply, Blue to switched ignition, black to ground & yellow to the radio mute. The speakers are connected to pins 6 & 12 on the green connector block in the quadlock. Any ideas were I might have gone wrong? |

| Re: Handsfree kit install Just had another go at the handsfree problem. I decided to reconnect the speaker supplied in the kit and the system works perfectly . I have checked the connections I made in the green Quadlock block & I have used pins 6 & 12 (telephone input signals) I am assuming that the red speaker cable was + & the black was -. The only other connections showing on connector C are pins 5 & 11, which are input signal audio. I am about to make some connection continuity checks on all connections. Any ideas on this problem? |

| Re: Handsfree kit install I think I qualify for numpty of the week award, after rechecking all of my wiring connections without finding any faults. I checked the radio settings and in the menu section was a setting for PHONE ON/OFF and yes you've guessed when I selected PHONE ON the system worked as it said on the box. ![]() If anyone is going to fit a nokia CK-7W to their Octy2 the microphone can be fitted in the interior light unit if you remove the nokia shroud that it is mounted in. It looks a lot neater installed there. the only part of the kit on show is the button. Thanks to VRSTU for your responses on this thread and the info on your web pages. |

| Re: Handsfree kit install I have fitted the CK-7W, it doesnt need a switched supply as thats optional. If you leave the switched supply wire disconnected, when your phone disconnects the car kit remains powered for 5 mins before switching itself off. I might try your tip for the mic, at the moment mine is at the top of the A pillar. Moley, has anyone commented on the sound of your voice with the mic in the OEM location.

| Re: Handsfree kit install The wife says my voice is as sexy as ever but seriously she said it sounds a little hollow with a slight echo, but acceptable. When I fitted the mic in the interior light unit I remove the unit and I was able to feed the wire to the A pillar without removing the headlining, there is a gap between the headlining and the top of the screen, so it's possible just to feed the cable in there. I used the rubber blanking bung to retain the mic in position. When VRSTU said had I enabled the phone in the menu I was looking in the phone menu thinking that I had not set the bluetooth connections correctly, I now realise that he meant the menu in the RADIO menu ![]() |
