"Jumbo" box - they're avin a larf...

I think, having just got my Elegance with a so-called "Jumbo box", that, if Skoda were estate agents, they'd be had up under The Property Misdescription Act.
But they aren't, so they won't be. All the same...

I know, it's ridiculous. Be careful with the advert for it being "chilled" too, it's only as cold as the air coming out of the vents, as I discovered when my butties were warm when driving up to Scotland in late March.

Yeh, but if your aircon is producing chilled air, the box will be chilled. There is also a moveable slot/flap thingy to contral the airflow.

Mind, for your S'wich/Mars you the glovebox is chilled isn't it?

Re: "Jumbo" box - they're avin a larf...

if the vent in the box is open, and your climate control is outputting cool air from the vents then the box is also cooled. When driving round southern france last year we used it to keep a couple of coke cans in. Both cans were kept lovely and cool inside the box.

Yes the box is small, but at least its better than no box at all.

Q; How do you know if you have a 'Jumbo' in your Octy?

A: Footprints in your Mars Bar!

Jumbo box is a rubbish name for it, though. It evokes thoughts of huge storage, it absolutely isn't!

NO; its a good name - trips off your tongue "I've got a Jumbo in my car".

Better name than the PC "rear centre console chilled storage box with adjustable arm rest/lid".

I'll stick to Jumbo, thanks.

Also, if you jack the lid up and forward, it is a good armrest - downside is it is a little harder to get at the hand brake.

Sureley that's heated seats , in the summer it is 35-40 degrees out side here and my gin and tonics do stay cool in the jumbo box for me, when I got it the vents were closed and I thought it was broken.

I remember it well, back in 1892, Nellie Bimbo and her All Star Trick Cyclists in Pick 'n Dilly's Circus.

As my wife uses it to keep her odds and sods in, I think Jumbo's box is quite appropriate!!

Whatever it's called, at least you can't empty the contents on to the floor when moving the arm rest out of the way like you could with the Octy 1

Yes, the Bimbo box only comes with the Club GTI model. (Gets Tight Instantly)

The next morning it becomes the Dumbo.
