Exclamation L&K 2.0TDi DSG Estate - What Price?

Sorry if this subject has been covered before, but am looking at best deal for a L&K 2.0TDi DSG Estate, so that I can put the purchase proposal to my company.
I have spoken to the sales guy at my local dealer, who claims his margin is 8%, (around £1600) and he is prepared to split this with me, giving net £800 discount.
I got around £1300 off my current L&K from the same dealer, back in 2003!

I have had a search on the net and came up with the following prices:

www.ukcarsdirect.com
Octavia Estate L&K 2.0TDI DSG List price inc. metallic £19985.00 offer £17690.00 save £2295.00

Norwich Union Cars http://www.norwichunion.com/norwich-...cars/index.htm
Octavia Estate L&K 2.0TDI DSG List price £19870.00 offer £19065.00

Autobytel www.autobytel.co.uk
Octavia Estate L&K 2.0TDI DSG List price £19870.00 offer £18552.00 (also offer a little bit of discount on options!)

New Car Deal www.new-car-deal.co.uk/Skoda.htm
Octavia Estate Elegance 2.0TDI DSG List price £18420.00 offer £1656.00 inc. metallic save £1764.00 (don't list L&K!)

My dealer reckons that the only valid price is the N.U which falls in line with his offer, he reckons that the other ones can't be proper UK supplied cars, as there isn't the margin from Skoda UK to ensable these prices!!
I would like to buy it from the local dealer as they have always given me good service, but I obviously need to get the best price!

What discounts have forum members managed to get?
Thanks,
John.

look on what car and see their best price is as if your dealer won't match, they put you in touch with one that will.

My Local dealer was willing to offer me 8 % off the elegance or L and K models which I was going to go for but at the last minute I managed to get a much better deal on net through the skodastore. I sure your dealer can do a lot better if he tries.

To be fair to dealers though they have a very small margin to work with. Dealer margins are usually around 5-6%.

Octavia Elegance Estate TDI 2.0 PD with £715 of accessory is listed at £18060. Can you get 13.6% off - (£2465) and buy at £15600? You can.

Default L&K DSG

I got a price of 18,650 for an L&K 2.0 TDi DSG Estate with metallic paint and curtain air bags from a local dealer. It is the same price I could find on the internet and I will be the first owner - also dealer is including mats and a full tank of diesel.
Seems like a fair deal to me.

I can confirm 8% is the dealer margin on these, I know the Owner of Mitchells Skoda @ Cheshire Oaks.

To split this 50/50 is pretty much as good as you will get from a dealer.

You can sometimes get the dealer to give up his margin in order to meet sales targets and thus receive manufacturer bonuses. The end of the month is often a good time to make a deal.
