Default From MK1 to Mk2

Just got back from test drive of Octy 2 Ambiente 2.0TDI, wow nice drive, i was able to test drive the car on my own so gave it loads of right foot, im very impressed. Nice interior with a half decent stereo this time.

Question is do i buy one?

Ive been offered the demo car which is 54 plate in silver 200 miles with parking sensors & alloys for £13990.00. Im also part ex'ing my octy vrs on 54 plate 6000 miles on the clock but they are only offering £10000.00 for it They say vrs MK1 is now £13000.00 new.

Apart from the part ex price is the price of the ambiente any good?

Also can these cars be remaped?

thanks in advance for any help.

Not the first time, used to own a furby vrs before the octy, just miss the mid range pull and the economy, the vrs is killing me on petrol. Only thing is the octy 2 doesn't have that "im driving something special" feeling. Its kind of run of the mill on the outside, no offence to octy 2 owners, its a very nice car & im sure i will be buying one, just wish i could afford the sport model.

You said it yourself; 'wow what a drive' .
After driving over 10k in mine it still brings a smile to my face, with its accel from 2000rpm. This makes for rapid progress and relaxed motorway driving.
I fitted an East Coast Racing tuning box to it but had to remove pending some warranty work (not related). It certainly gave it more grunt but seemed to less flexible than stock. All I'm running now is a K&N panel which also improves the response or MPG depending how I'm driving.
I bought mine because it is different; I've got more goodies than the equivalent Golf or A4 for less.
I'd keep looking for an ex-dem Elegance with as many extra's as poss. Use the autotrader to find it. Don't worry about mileage and the older the demo car the more warranty problems would have been sorted (if any)
Good Hunting

Is yours black? Thats the color i wanted but cant afford a new one so not much choice, might hold out and shop around a bit more, theres not many used ones around at dealers & a better price for mine would be nice.

Whats the story with the sports suspension / any good / do you have it?

Would like an Elegance or even the sport but funds will not allow, My own fault for spending to much on cars in the last three years.

My 2.0 TDI Elegence cost £14250, was ex-dem and has full leather and the pegasus sports susp pack.
The wheels finish the car off perfectly. I just don't like the noisy Bridgestones.
The dealers will want your car so get in there and haggle!

vRS to 2.0 TDI, sounds familiar
Traded in my vRS, which I've had for the past couple of years for a 2.0 TDI Octy 2 on Saturday, first impressions are good, very comfortable and handles well, feels much better put together and bigger than my old octy but only done 50 miles so far so still learning about it.

I think the price is too expensive. I paid 12,395 for my 04 2.0 TDI Ambiente Silver with 890 miles on the clock from a Skoda dealer about 3 months ago.

Don't bother with the Sport, For the same price you can get the Elegance with the Sports suspension and it is much better specced.

I ordered the Sport and when I looked into it, I could get more of what i wanted with the car in the elegance (rear parking sensors, cruise control, etc)
which come as std on the elegfance, but are not even an option in the sport, so I changed the order (ore stealth too ).

Personally, I would stick with the Ambiente if you like it rather than the sport.

I'm chopping in a Fabia vRS for the Octy and it's been confirmed for build this week

Update-

Test drove 2litre TDI Elegance today, much nicer car with leather interior, 17" alloys + sports suspension in silver 54 plate with 6500 miles on the clock, Price £15495 Price for my VRS £10750 that leaves £4745 to pay, not bad me thinks, could be going for this one.
