Looks like they'll be having to get you a new dash then.

Hi Folks,

Phoned Skoda they can't take the car until Wednesday next week 19th Dec, l've decided to leave the problem until after Christmas. Hopefully the problem won't get any worse, as the car will be off the road until my dad comes out of hospital after his operation.

thanks again for all your words of wisdom.

Hi Again,

Change of plan yet again, the Vrs is booked in for Friday 21st Dec. Hopefully they can fix the rev counter (which they did the last time), failing that it's a replacement rev counter. Got to wondering this might be a dodgy rev counter thats been fitted to the car, as in it works ok for a while then sticks (gets fixed) and then works again (and then sticks again)(who knows)

The car went into Parks of hamilton skoda on Friday 21st Dec, it can't be fixed and a new rev will have to be ordered up, my dad was advised to phone on 28th Dec. Hopefully the new rev counter will be in and the car will go in and be sorted
