| Hi, I'm new to BriSkoda but hve owned Skodas for 6 years now. Currently have a Fabia VRs & an Octavia II 1.9 TDi estate. Hope somebody can help with my question. I want to fit a Skoda detachable towbar (or Westfalia equivalent) to my Octavia estate. The caravan we have bought has an AlKo AKS3004 stabiliser fitted. The caravan dealer has told us that the AlKo stabilisers work with detachable or swan-necked fixed towbars but some postings on here have implied that there is not a lot of clearance between the Skoda towbars and the Octavia bumper. Has anybody fitted a Skoda towbar to an Octavia II estate and tows a caravan with an AKS3004 stabiliser fitted? Thanks in advance! Last edited by DGW; 07-05-2008 at 11:08. Reason: Mk II added for clarity |

| As I said elsewhere Alko's own website will give you the clearance they recommend. My 3004 works well with a swan neck Brink bar. I would think you towbar would hav been designed with the AKS in mind, after all nearly every new UK and Euro 'van has one fitted.
