Default Octy free spec upgrade

Saw an ad in yesterday's press - for models delivered before 30 Sep:

If you order an Octy saloon or estate you will recveive a free upgrade to the next spec up i.e if you order a Classic you will receive an Ambiente and if you order an Ambiente you will take delivery of an Elegance.

Obviously not of much use if your heart is set on a vRS but not a bad deal in particular if you could wangle it through the likes of DTD to get this upgrade as well.

Hmm, interesting!!

Wonder if that means substantial money is available off a Classic? Could well be a very cheap car if so.

Why would you want a classic? I had one on loan once and it was horrible, can't believe that my 4x4 was actually the same model car.

The classic spec brings the cost of the Octy in line with the budget remit it intially set out to satisfy. I have been in a classic taxi and I thought it was OK, nowhere near as nice as the Elegance, but that said it was rather a lot less money!

I heard about this at the weekend. I think it's a similar deal to the vRS free equipment Both worth about £900 I should think.

Stu,

What is the situation with the free vRS upgrade deal? it was supposed to expire at the end of June but is it being carried on officially/unofficially?

My vRS is being built this week and the dealer still won't divulge if it qualifies for the freebies

Now officially 3 more months. I think the 5.5% on Solutions is still running too.

I heard that the Fabia MK1 Bohemia has low APR and Free servicing now too.

Thank you sir

I think the equipment upgrade offer is a belter for Skoda.

Now to phone the dealer tomorrow and knock the £900 off the price for the free options

Apologies for the minor hijack of the thread

Here are the vRS deals, Dan:

Škoda UK - Octavia vRS now available with free equipment upgrade*

Škoda UK - Octavia vRS now available with free equipment upgrade*

It doesn't actually matter to you, as you have already ordered and given deposit and the previous offer was "soft extended" for pipeline orders at the end of May anyway. (ie as long as you had ordered by 30th June you get until 30th September to register - easily enough time to get any factory order)

Check out this thread:

Cheers for that.

Regarding the dates on your sig, did the dealer provide them all at key points in the time line?

Despite ordering the vRS and putting a £500 deposit down on May 17th I have still not been told anything and it's SUPPOSED to be built this week.

And to top it all, the lease company has "lost" my L&K

Yes.

It does help I have dealt with the Sales Manager throughout the process (and it is in their interest to chase me to sign up/register before end of June to get their bonuses)

7th May - Ordered (deposit placed)
17th May - Build dates (week 24) confirmed
15th June - Advised built 11th June (actually 13th June 2007 according to VIN decoder - but maybe build start/finish) and left factory 14th June
25th June - Advised at port of entry. offered 8 registration numbers to choose from
26th June - Requested me to get Skoda 7 day cover to tax/register before end of June (for quaterly figures). Requested to sign off "confirmation of registration"
28th June - Advised assigned reg on dealership system on 27th June. advised port of entry was Grimsby and the floods had delayed transporters in the region and there was a back log. hence handover would be July. Advised no known audio issues (Stream MP3) -
2nd July - Advised vehicle taxed and registered as new vehicle with DVLA (12months + 1 week tax) on 30th June. Advised transportation fax received with dealership ETA 3rd July

3rd July - Sales Manager away so no update today.
4th July - confim my car is there and is being prep'd (PDI+Eibachs)?
5th July - Handover?

Sorry to hear about your Laurin&Klement

Hence why I nearly bought a new Octavia vRS combi last week.......
An ex-demo in 6 months would be nice

There's over £3,000 off some vRS's here which is a deal you wouldn't get at your local friendly Skoda dealer

Mine in that spec was a couple of hundred cheaper, from a dealer! So brand new not pre-registered and no delivery mileage. And when I tried to get a similar second hand... I was quoted a non-shifting figure of £18k

My dealer supplied vRS PD170 Combi in the same spec was £16,995 + £300 for paint (£17,295) aswell. Plus still gets 5.1% fins and FREE SERVICING

(but then I went mad and spent another £3,600 RRP on the basis that they would give me a discount on the extras of 13% - whoops!)

It would seem this deal has permeated through to the brokers as well with DTD offering a tasty £3k off a 2.0 Elegance Diesel Estate. Very very tempting.
