| That's what I was going to say. One is metric, the other imperial.

| Superchips quote 359Nm at 2356 rpm on the standard car prior to "bluefinning". You can download their power curves if you want for comparisons. Interstingly the standard 170BHP TDI engine produces more BHP up to 4000rpm than their modded (241BHP) TFSI engine. At 4000rpm the TFSI produces 145BHP whilst the TDI churns out 170BHP. In fact the superchips unmodded TDI went on to max out at 180BHP (similar to Barnstormer's car I think). May be variance in rolling roads or like the PD130 it actually puts out a bit more than quoted by Skoda.

This illustrates that on a 'correct' RR power outputs are as per the book.

| Hi. As I said, similar to 180BHP. That induction kit you've got is very impressive if its giving nearly 17BHP extra - good value as a Superchip reamap costing above £400 gives only 27BHP extra.

It was also running V-Power Diesel with the Millers Sport stuff in it, as well as a comprehensive (if somewhat crude) cold air feed - and boy was it fecking cold that morning ![]() Mine was the "Standard" TDi pulling in 173.2hp & 284lb/ft - running V-Power Diesel and a Pipercross Panel Filter - so was 5hp up, and 26lb/ft ![]() Mine was then RR'd 2 months later, running BP Ultimate Diesel, and the filter, with the RR Figures/settings set the same as the previous run, and an inlet temp difference of 1 degC - it then achieved 177.9hp & 265lb/ft

| comparing diesels and petrols at like for like rev ranges isn't really right seeing as the petrol will rev far higher than the diesel.

It may produce a little more at 4000rpm but then on the Petrol you still have another 3000+ rpm of even more power to accelerate with before having to change gear! ![]() Lee

| looking on the superchips site the PD170 makes its peak power at 4200rpm then falls very quickly where the Tfsi makes its peak at 6100rpm and doesn't die off at all so you can't really compare the two side by side on rpm basis as they simply work differently ![]() interestingly the petrol makes peak torque at 2500rpm ish and still has about 95% at over 5000rpm where the diesl peaks at 2300rpm and has fallen to 69% of this by 4500rpm. the peak torque figures are 317Nm and 432Nm respectivly ![]()

| rev range makes very little difference in balls out driving really, at trax last year i thought my mazda was going to be poop as it has zero mid range pull and doesn't make peak torque till about 5500rpm but when driving like this you are flat out anyway so the car never really dipped below 4500rpm anyway ![]()
