| Hi Also placed this thread on the Roomster section , but its of interest to all of those with similar tight fitting problems. Which has the larger width tunnel size ?? Well its my understanding that the " Roomster" may actually live up to its name in one department anyway. To explain, we own a Octavia 4x4 Amb estate 07 LHD, and recently my wife had to take a colleague with her on a business trip. The male colleague however is a little on the large size, weighing 140klo and has difficulties driving many estates, so he was very pleased to be offered the chance to drive on some of the long motorway trip. Well the seat was fine, steering of course had its adjustments, but what spoiled the occasion was the lack of leg room. Legroom in the width that is , as you have to understand this fine fellow, has considerably thick legs to match his very large paunch etc. His legs, simply just banged together every km they were subjected to the Octavia's ample peddle tunnel. "Its the same old story he said !!!" only the Roomster has the correct width for my proportions." !! Looks like its a Roomster I must buy, now I have tried all the makes and models. So people !! what is the width of the tunnel in the Roomster, is it larger than the Octy estate ??? Our colleague thinks so !!! ------------------------------------ Octy 2, 1.9 TDI PD Ambiente 4x4 Combi and Nissan Sunny 2.0 DLX, Company Octy 1.9 TDI Tour Combi |

| In fairness, it does sound like he could do with laying off the pies and cakes. That said, when I went car shopping with a large friend of mine (6'5" ~21st), he found the octavia and pretty much everything else too small. The best were the current shape passat and suprisingly the rover 75, which he bought. |

| We hired a Roomster last year and were very impressed by its dimensions and comfort levels . One thing that is definitely better is the rear passenger foot wells . In the Octavia one is hindered from placing your feet flat down by the plastic heater vents under the front seat - anyone know how you can remove them ? ..... other than by brute force ! In the Roomster no such problem .

| No complaints of legroom in my MK2 so far as it has loads of space but my MK1 was very cramped. |
