| I'm a good boy I check my oil most weeks. The oil in my Octy has been slowly going down since I got it. No surprise there I know the TFSI likes a bit of oil. I've done about 4.5k miles and when I checked the oil on Sunday and it was down on min. Again not a surprise I'd been expecting to have to buy some oil for a month or so. So I trot off to Halfords get the appropriate expensive goop and put in about half the bottle (600ml). I figure I'll check it again when I get home and put in more if it needs it. Now I check and it seems to be overfilled which is a bit confusing. Removing the dipstick initially and it shows 3/4, wipe and redo and oil is right up the dipstick like it's splattered up the tube? A half liter over fill the end of the world or will I go hunt for a siphon tube?

| I'd give it another check. I am sure you are but is it on level ground?

| The ground is fairly level i.e. I don't have to use the handbrake.

| If you thought it was previously low and have only added 600ml I personally wouldn't think it was a massive issue.

| Ta. I'd be happier if I could get a clean reading from the dipstick.
