Question Re can a Stream (Mp3) support a line out

dear all,

I have a new octavia with the MP3 version of the Stream Cd unit. Can a audio line output to run an active sub etc be connected to this unit?

(the audio manual indicates that the stream can, as the setting menu includes line out settings but i am not sure how)

thanks for any help you can give me

I asked the exact same question last week and got a few negative replies, so I went ahead and ordered a speaker level to line out converter for $40. I sure hope I won't need it, but having read the manual I can't see anything that indicates there is a line out connector somewhere, never mind any settings for it. Can you please describe what it says about the line out and what kind of settings are available for it in the menu? I don't have the car yet, it's due to arrive next week btw.

If you look at the diagrams here -

Octavia-vRS.com - MFD2 Install Guide

You will see that the MFD2 has Line Out. It may be that, although not marked on the label, the Stream also has the same.

Thanks for your replies,

Kkonstan,

The manual (stream manual ) refers to control of an external amps signal processing

Stu, Do you know what EA l , EA r ad EA g on the Mfd2 connector are? these may also be there to feed an external amp ?
