| The rear screen wiper on my 06 octy Ambiente seems to work intermittently when turned on. It seems to give up the ghost, not always in the parked position, after a few minutes. Occasionally it will work again for another 5 or ten minutes if left switched off for a while. Any ideas or is it another visit to the dealer's? ![]() I'm building up quite a list what with the non - illuminating bulb failure light, the second rear fog **** up and now the intermittent wiper. It's been back once already to have a non - funtioning rear washer sorted Sorry about the automatic censoring above but the word was the one that rhymes with lock. the sentence looks worse when asterisked out like this. | My 57 Elegance (2 months old) has similar problems. I haven't taken it back to a dealer yet. The rear wiper starts but stops part way across the screen if the front wipers are active when reverse is selected. Nothing gets it working again during the rest of the journey. If the vehicle is parked and not used (say overnight) - when the car is unlocked and the ignition switched on the wiper returns to the parked position. A similar ‘jammed feature’ can occur if the rear wiper is activated during a journey (ie not via a reverse) but usually the wiper works as expected. |

| I had this the other day when driving down to Reading and it only occurred when the rear screen was totally dry but I'd left the wiper on. I therefore think it may be some overload cut-out function to stop the motor from burning out. I got it going again by switching it off and then doing a rear screen wash.

| When I first got my Octy the wiper did this and after several weeks it gave up the ghost completely. I took it to the dealer and they replaced it under warranty. I believe it is another 'common fault' |
