has anybody been told about a recall on the octavia vrs 56 plate dealer told me this morning it was some thing to do with the stereo let me know

no dont think so it had somethin to do with when you turn it on the speakers make a popping sound

My Elegance does that very occasionally, about 4 or 5 times in the year and a half i've had it. Stream HU.

Just had a quick look at the VOSA web-link above.

I liked this one the best;

Octavia II - flywheel may fail resulting in fire.

Havn't heard of any flywheel fires on here, yet.

that's a bit worrying.

As for the stereo question, it's a simple software upgrade that your dealer can do while you wait but it's not classifed as a recall as such but a service bulletin as Stu says.
