| I am sure Bahnstormer will be a long soon to tell. I met up to try his one out and was very impressed with the comfort - same seat as those in my old Audi S3. Best seats I've ever sat in. As a result, I have the same Recaro 'Style' model in build at the factory right now. Expecting delivery anytime soon. Mine will be black alcanatra centre and black leather bolsters. Can't wait to get it fitted - never did get used to the OEM VRS seats digging into right thigh ![]() Edited to addRecaro offer sub-frames to fit Octy II VRS but (for the 'Style' model) the fitter will need to order/fit a dummy resistor to convince the car it still has a side air-bag fitted as this model does not have side air-bag but IS electrically adjustable as standard so will need wiring into car's electrics too.

| Well; here I am. Better late than never. Quite right, I have a Recaro 'Style' in my Octy; third car it has been fitted into. Quite straight forward to fit, you just need the base/sub frame (VW Touran spec) a direct electrical feed to power the electrical adjustment/heating (if fitted) and a resistor to fool the airbag warning system that there is no longer one fitted in the seat. I had mine all sorted in a couple of hours by Capital Seating and Vision > Seating, Vision and Accessories for Hardworking Environments in Leicester. They also, as they are authorised Recaro repairers, fitted some new basefoam in the seat as the original had got squashed over 7 years and 120,000 miles! Also they would also trim/re-foam any Recaro seat so if you didn't fancy paying for a new one you could get a second hand one (from e-bay perhaps) and have it retrimmed to your spec. Here's a couple of pics of mine as fitted;- ![]() ![]() QED; does that help?

It's just the Recaro gives much better support, particularly lateral, for 'Brisk' driving. ![]() PS> I'm not rich; that's why I only have the one Recaro!

The savings he is making with his artificial (diesel) vRS are going some way to helping him bring over recaro's "brister", sparco, from thailand. | |

| I like the new ones, with side airbags, but i bet they cost a small fortune.

| Is it not illegal to replace seat with airbag, with one without airbag? BTW, there were 2 recaro sportster cs seats with airbags in ebay for 1500euros... but they had to be picked up from germany, so i didnt buy them. |

| Not illegal; but might raise an eyebrow or two with Insurers?

1. the subframe for a Golf is different to that for an Octavia and 2. OEM fitted seats often have integral subframes so they will only go in the car they were made for.

| The Golf seats fit the MKI, not sure about the MKII Octy though. |
