| On the MKI (i know yours is a MKII) not ALL cars could be done via VAG-COM. The coding is there, but sometimes it doesn't work, leaving the only other way of disabling the seatbelt chime is by disconnecting the plug under the drivers seat (the one going to the seatbelt buckle). I'm not sure if some MKII's cannot be done with VAG-COM tho'. |

| Why not just put your seatbelt on and then there's not a problem.

| no taxi drivers are exempt from wearing seatbelts cos someone can get the seatbelt around the drivers net and strangle them. its also if they need to get out and run (being robbed). I worked as one for several years, yes you put your seatbelt on at 70mph but you also have some very dodgy fares which you do wonder if you gonna get to your destination in one piece and away again. |

| Yes we are exempt in our own licensing district only but travelling out of area and motorways we have to fit our seatbelt on.Maybe i will cut a buckle of a scrap car and click it into the seatbelt stalk?

| I assume there's a switch in the buckle or belt mechanism? As i said, mine is intermittent. I assume the chime should sound when i remove my seatbelt and reverse into my drive? The warning comes up on the dash but the chime is a 50/50 affair.... |
