Smile Towbar and reversing sensors

I have been waiting for witter to produce a new tow bar for the new Ambience estate (the one for the new Octy hatch would not fit) I had the new one (Part No SK12A) fitted on the 25 May I have also had the Witter bike carrier fitted these did not interfere with the Reversing Sensors, What did interfere was the protector plate but I have been told that you can get a detachable one. I was also concerned about the Electrics but it was no problem.(this bar now fits the Octy hatch and Audi A3).

Yuo can get a detachable one, I have one on mine, it just slots in when you want to use it and pulls out when your done, and its on a Witter towbar with Pendle cycle rack mounts

Default Towbar Query

Hi just a quick question for Springlea, Is your octavia the new mkII model?

I am getting many different comments on the reversing sensors issue with towbars, and now very confused

Is the towbar you fitted a standard non removable one or is it a detachable one?

My local dealer has quoted me near on £800 to have a detach bar fitted which there is no way on this earth I am paying that

any pointers would be good

cheers

If it helps, mine is not the new octavia, but I have reversing sensors fitted, and a detachable striker plate, never had a problem with the towbar setting off the sensors, I think it cost me about £170 all in fitted
