| Vag Com I am considering purchasing the Vag Com, see quite a few on "E" bay for £20 ish, a cable & CD, how would I know that ive purchased something thats works on my Octy VRS, or are there members on here that we can hire to do any mods we might want, for eg, from my previous thead, the "leaving home" option. Im in the Preston area. Still in love with my new & 3rd Octy VRS. cheers |

I bought one through ECU and OBD II Vehicle Diagnostics - Scantools and Code Readers - Home Page and it has worked on a MK5 GTi Golf. He doesnt list them on his website but drop him an email and he'll sort you out for about US$80 | |

| Re: Vag Com Phil of course its true!!  The A5 platform requires a CANBUS cable. You cannot get licensed VAG-COM to work on a third party cable with CANBUS

| ECUless  | Re: Vag Com Get the proper VAG-COM License with HEX-USB+CAN Interface from Ross Tech. e-bay ones will not work with Octavia II and by the time you license the older version which these work with the cost is not that much more. We ordered one from Ross Tech, delivery was very quick - you will have to add VAT and duty to the price (17.5% and 3.3% respectively) |

| Re: Vag Com Follow the Ross Tech link Ray, it's cheaper to order from the US. You can get a MicroCan which is ideal if you only want to do CANBUS cars which is cheaper than the full HEX+CAN
