Found a number of prospective used VRS Tdi's at stealers to look at on Sat, believed from Skoda UK with v low mileage. Poss choice of colours all with jumbo box but only 17's for some reason. Really want 18's . Do I bite the bullet and get jumbo box and 17's or try find 18's even at the expense of the jumbo box etc. One or two to look at with both but higher mileage. Who would only go for half a free upgrade!? Skoda UK I suppose. Did hear something about a shortage of 18's at one point.Want to keep the car looking standard too easy to slide down the new wheels etc route... as have done with every car so far. What would be the likelyhood of getting rid of 17's and getting 18's on here? Other than drivers armrest what should i be looking for? Maxidot (whatever that is) rear elec windows, what is worth trading off for another.

What age are these cars as they could have been before the free upgrades. I would have thought it would not be too hard to sell the 17s as there will always be someone who would want to upgrade their non VRS car with VRS wheels. If you have the jumbo box then you will get the electric rear windows (same package). Maxidot is a more detailed screen in the centre of the dials that also gives you more functionality to turn things on/off. It look very nice and people who have it on here swear by it. Rear parking sensers are also useful as the back visibility is not the greatest. The rest of the options are all personel preference. If you think you can live without the 18s then go ahead a buy one. If not and you would always say I wish I had 18s then wait until a car with the spec you want turns up. The tdi has been out long enough now that there will be a fair few out there for sale with a range of spec and milages. You could always give the dealer the spec you want and see if they can find a suitable car within the dealer network.

The "free" upgrades arent exactly free........ The dealer basically gets £900 to spend on extras on the car - to make it easy skoda say that is the jumbo box etc and the wheels. If you talk to the dealers this £900 can be used on anything, or even taken off the price of the car. SO I guess that thes cars you have seen have only the interior vrs pack. Some reviewers (evo - i think) preferred the ride on the 17s to the 18s but i guess it is a personal preference.
