Wrinkly hub badges

When washing the car the other day I noticed that the Skoda badges on the wheel hubs had a wrinkled appearance.
It feels as if there is a plastic film over them which is separating.
Are these protective films that should have been removed at PDI, or are they faulty?

I had that, so I just peeled off the wrinkly plastic. It hasn't caused any problems and it was about 18 months ago!

I noticed mine were doing that but I didn't bother doing anything about it

Mine were like that, just peeled the plastic off.

I think they have a protective cover on them.

Its a clear protective film like you get on new phones, pda's etc. or anything that is chrome plated plastic e.g. on tv's/video recorders, dvd players - normally found on the manufacturers badges. Sometimes has a blue tint to it. Perfectly safe to remove.

When I noticed on mine, it was already too late, I guess. Car was 1 month old and those covers started to look very bad. I had to take the covers off, sit down in my home and took me like 2 hours taking the plastic off with my nails. Problem was that it was in the hot portuguese summer and plastic has partly melted and it glued itself on the badge. After that I went to the dealer and argued with them as they were supposed to take the plastic off or at least tell me about it so I could take them off before they burn and damage the badge.
They also gave me the car with 3.6 pressure in tyres while recomended was 2.2.

I had this too, it is common for dealers to do this, I have no idea why they do it.

I found out that they give a cars with high tyre pressure because when the car gets out of the factory they never know for how long car will stay parked in some storage department. If it stays in the same place for 4 or 5 month without anybody moving it, tyres will get damaged because of the pressure on rubber always on the same place. Tyres get "oval". So, if they put very high pressure, area on wich weight of the car is "sitting" on the tyre is smaller, so tyre won't get damaged that bad. Of course, the dealer should correct the pressure when entering the car to the customer, but they are just too lazy to do it.
Ah yeah, just one more thing. Once a week car should be moved, at least 50 cm. Even with hight tyre pressure, on the storage areas they should move the cars once a week so they change the area of the tyre they are "sitting" on. But, they don't do it. If we park our car for long period of time, we should cahnge it's position once a week.
If not, tyres get "oval" as a result and later while driving we get those vibrations on the steering wheel on certain speeds.
