Default Any excel experts in da house?

I'm fairly good with excel usually, but this one has me a little stumped.

I have a row of ££ numbers, and in the 2nd column along I have a "YES" for when I have received payment (yes, this is for TRAX )

Basically I want to create a formula down the bottom which will take the ££ figure to the left, IF the column 2 to the right has a YES in it....

Ummm, how?

Actually, after thinking more logically for a while I've just done a formula where I've clicked on a cell and hit + and the next cell. I can keep adding to that formula as I go along.

PS: NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE HAVE SIGNED UP FOR TRAX! COME ON!

Use the IF command.

Click the = sign next to the formula bar, and let the wizard take you through it.

E.g. =IF(A2<4,good, bad) where if A2 has a value less than four, then the cell will say good, if more than for then it will say bad.

Ignore the above, thats not what you want is it.

You need to use a count function I think. Off out now but will have a think when I get back.

couldn't you use the sumif feature?

ie. =SUMIF(C2:C12,"Yes",B2:B12)

I'll admit I'm not 100% sure of what you are trying to do though

Could you use: "If name column A=yes in column 2(Trax),Pat head,Chase"?

Nor was I TBH so assumed " " was how to derive a formula that would get more people to sign up for Trax...

Just tried the above, and I think it will only sum the whole column of £££ if the entire column is filled with "YES".

Forget any of this and I will stick to my simple + "cell ref" each time someone pays.

are you using actual figures or just '£' signs??

I know you've got it sorted now, but when I was trying to work it out before, I produced a table like the one attached...(I'm a bit bored tonight)

No - I was the one who f****d it up Rob. I thought you needed the column with the numbers in the first part, and the column with the YES's in the last part... Have now swapped around having seen your example, and my TRAX template works spot on now.
