Car: Race Blue vRS PD (~ 200 BHP)
Default Mapped PD vRS

Went to see Will yeaterday with my brand new vRS PD.

Will has been very flexible about booking the car in as it's been delayed.

On the drive back home the difference was outstanding - it seems to have made a very good car in to a great car. Loads of useable power throughout the rev range.

Will put my mind at ease regarding the DPF and also if the car gets 'flashed' at the dealers. He promised to do the map again should this happen.

So far so good - highly recommended.

Cheers Will - Gavin

There aren't too many of you out there with maps on TDi's I don't think, so it's good that you've taken the chance and gone for it. Nice one.

What 'map' are we talking about and what are the 'claimed' figures?. There has been a LOT of discussion about remaps on the petrol vRS but not so much on the diesel so it would be good to hear a more detailed review once you've run it for a while.

Not sure of the details - maybe ask Will at P. Torque?
Goes like a rocket though!

He reckons it should run in the region of 200bhp? Certainly feels a lot quicker than before in went in.

Cheers

This is the only 'mapped' PD vRS OctyII I've seen, still pretty impressive though, 200bhp & 310ft/lbs

Pleased you are happy Gavin, thanks for posting.

Regarding torque, 55 lb/ft is the normal gain from this model (approx 314 lbs/ft). Basically, work on 310 - 320 lbs/ft

Flashed via the OBD port now, with no ECU removal

No problems to report - done 5k miles now.

The only problem I find is getting grip in 1st and 2nd, especially when the roads are wet/greasy - no fault of the re-map though, you just have to be aware.

MPG is, on average ~ 44mpg per tank. Had 47mpg from one tank.
Most mpg was 51 on a long motorway run, worst was 38 on a short sharp run.

All in all, well impressed - give Will a shout if you are interested?
