The car does feel quite strong. Not really had much of a chance to fully test it yet.

Re: Hi Volume Fuel Pump - 2.0TFSI

Hmmm, in this weather with the pump on I'd be having some fun with Boost 9! You could also richen up the mixture a little by dropping the Fuel setting down to 6 or 7. Timing to suit the condtions and what you can get away with.
I'll update your switch Stu and get yours back to you ASAP Steve!

How many corners did you cut, and are SWMBO's fingers still in one piece? Or did you do it at work................?

Lets just say it's easier after the third one!! One or two little methods to make things easier were identified.

Can see how it is easier without having to remove the pump, but getting that 18mm nut off is a bit of an issue! I know Steve's was not as bad as mine....and his pump did not need removing.

Re: Hi Volume Fuel Pump - 2.0TFSI

Mine didn't need removing either and I found a neat way of holding it whilst undoing the 18mm nut.

Also there was the cam belt cover trick which helped a lot.

I'm glad about that.
Your efforts on the end of the spanner mean't that today has been the first day my left arm has worked properly.

Re: Hi Volume Fuel Pump - 2.0TFSI

Anyway enough of the idle chat, time for a fuel pump update................................. it's phenomenal

I love this mod, it's almost like the car has been remapped again, pulls stronger and longer than before, hits 6,800rpm comfortably although I would'nt recomend thrashing about like that all the time!. I'm convinced this thing has added more bhp but by how much we'll have to wait till Saturday's RR day at JKM (which means no BP102 now otherwise the results will be meaningless).

So far, so awesome

I'm lead to believe that using the other arm adds to the excitement.

Re: Hi Volume Fuel Pump - 2.0TFSI

My initial thoughts on this pump are that it has certainly improved WOT response and the car seems more 'willing'.

For anyone wondering what an earth we are talking about - The current TFSi fuel pump (on engine) cannot flow enough fuel to cope with certain demands placed upon it. To combat this two US companies leapt to the rescue and produced a modification.

You have APR who supply the entire pump complete and ready to swap out with your existing unit, it is however quite expensive.

You also have AutoTech who supply just the internals to the pump but you have to install them into your exsiting pump.

Our pumps came via Phil @ BSH in the US who has been pretty good at helping us out. In the UK AFAIK Awesome are APR dealers so I suspect they could supply the APR offering.

Fitting isn't as daunting as it may first seem and if you were thinking of getting one it may be worth asking a few questions before starting the job.

Autotech -

There are also a few photos available that could support the pump removal and re-installation, not as many as was expected and due to some lack of planning on the tool front, plus picking up nipper from footy practise didn't help.....

Best or worse person to ask would be Steve, as he has covered most miles ( i say worse as he tends to have a lead foot anyway! )

Personally i have not covered enough miles to report but in short burst distances it seems no worse than before....
