Just had a free Revo remap trial.... anybody else buy one afterwards???

Just had a free Revo remap trial at APD in Dorset. Wow! Really notice increased torque and power throughout really. Only another 4hours driving time @ 207bhp

I was wondering how many people had the trial, then go on to buy one afterwards??? What were your thoughts too?

I should think that a few people do buy the software. If you don't and you go somewhere else to have it mapped be sure to tell them you've had the trial - it could be important.

The map will stay on the ecu it reverts back to standard thats all. Any dealer or chip tuning company will be able to tell that revo have been at it!

Not nescessarily the case, the main dealer has no way of seeing any difference (short of sending the ECU to a third party), other tuning companeis can read the code out from the ECU if they know what they're doing. All Revo dealers have stock files that can be put onto the ECU if required for piece of mind if you decide not to go for full software... if you go full software then it's overwritten anyway!

I don't think anyone is stirring it Kev, its just well known that some mappers have had issues when an ECU has reverted back to a "stock" map after the trial ends.

It is the same think as if the ecu had the full revo code in.

Not everyone has the ability (or knowledge) to flash over a "revo-occupied" ecu...

I was thinking about popping along to somewhere and having the tdi REVO free trialed.

Should I do it?? Are there any lasting issues with the ecu?? or the abillity to have the full map put on later??

There isn't a problem with the REVO software as long as you make sure you inform anyone who might be planning to write new software to your ECU hat REVO has been present.

didn't bother with the free trial.
had the full monty 3 years ago, 222BHP and 257 torques(thats a proper word now).was more than enough for me.

I believe that you are right. 30 days money back without question.

Kate told me that they don't do trials at all. You don't get the full benefit of the map and it takes them a lot of time to load on!

I would'nt bother with the trial either, as Stu says you get a no quibble 30day money back guarantee but I dont think you'll be excersing that right!

30 day money back as Stu says! The intention of trial was to expand the potential market... allow customers that wouldn't have previously considered upgrading a car to have a go at it. More often than not it gets used as a comparative tool though, which it really isn't as it's a detuned version of full code.

I just went for the full revo 4bar software without the trial about 3 years ago and have had no problems,upgraded to stage two at inters a couple of years ago and found it a lot smoother as original map was pretty aggressive

Not normally Tom as the guys are generally a little busy on the rollers. If you have something in mind then give Kate a call and I'm sure she'll be mindfull of the fact that you aren't local.
