Default Remap for 1.4 16V 100Bhp

Hi,

I was just wondering if REVO do a remap for the 1.4 16V 100Bhp model. I know they do a lot with the diesels, but can a difference be achieved with the petrols too?

I would mainly be looking for a bit more torque at low revs, as you really have to push it to get it going, but some more power up top would still be appreciated!

Thanks

You'll typically get around a 10% increase for a normal aspirated engine.
Conventional tuning methods, ported head, high lift cams, etc will give you more but will cost more due to labour involved.

as above its a very costly job tuning a N/A car, thats why i didn't bother with my focus and got the octavia, much easier to tune

my brother has a 1.8 focus, they are about 113bhp standard i think, we fitted a four branch manifold, de-cat, cat back system, and modified the air intake. it probably got near to 120bhp but not over i don't think, it did rev more freely but not a massive difference in performance

I don't think Revo do a remap for your engine yet but may do soon as they are expanding their N/A aplications but this I suspect will be aimed at 'performance' engines such as the 2.8 and 3.2. Some tuners do already offer remaps but the rules prevent me from mentioning them in this section (please either PM me or ask the question in a general area). For best gains from a remap on your engine you'd be best running a higher octane fuel such as Optimax and having the timing increased to take advantage as this is the only real way to get increases when remaping an N/A car.

Other than that if you want better performance try stripping some weight from the car.

Thanks,

I agree, they are more likely to focus on the higher powered engines, as there is probably a larger market for it.

I have had a couple of tanks of Optimax, and boy does it make a difference. Smoother, more torque and power and a jump of about 4- 6 mpg, almost makes it worth buying all the time. Was thinking of running the car just on that once I leave Uni and have some more money lying around (and am doing less milage).

As for the weight thing, I probably don't help that! And the sub in the boot. Unfortuantely I like the rest of the mod cons.........

Hi there, we will be catering for alot of the lower capacity engines however it may be a little while off yet. As above you're obviously not going to see massive gains... 10% most likely. We are making the majority of our N/A software switchable though... eg: current released software for N/A applications is throttle sensitivety, Air-Fuel, and Timing adjustable.
