Question Switchable Revo map q's ???

I'm a complete noob to Skoda's and VAG diesels so please be nice

I will be collecting two (one for me, one for the g/f) Fabia vRS's in 10 days time and am keen to get the most out of them. I will be having some kind of tweeks done but am considering the Revo route due to the switchable maps. Is it possible that one of the 3 settings can be an ultra economical powerless map, with a (servicing) standard and 180/300 on the other settings ? I ask as I am a driving instructor and as such will be teaching learners in the car and it would be a good idea to not have it quite so responsive. When I am driving for my own amusement I want every horse and every torque that can be mustered

Corradoboy you get around dont you

There is a guy on here who has a remapped Furby and is a driving instructor but i dont think its switchable. I mean what are dual controls for.

(You still got the scooby then?)

hey, I believe they switch between the high map, and the standard map....

I use my vRS for instructing, and was offered a "custom" map, (custom code) where they remove the big "shove" you get when the turbo hits at 2000 revs, and keep it economical with low torque and power in the lower revs, but turn it right up above 3500 revs (up to 5000 revs, only really good for 4k with the standard map) giving about 180 bhp at the top..... then it will be gentle for the learners , and really fly when you want a bit of fun on your own

maybe this is the way to go (unless you have an unforgiving dealer, and must have the map off for servicing...)

Pretty sure PD130 maps are on or off with REVO.

FYI on the 'custom code' maps you CAN switch off the remap and use a 'close to standard' map by using VAGCOM and changing a value. Can't find instructions on this but I'm sure Mike or someone else at the CC HQ would be able to help if asked.

Nah Sold it on to do the instructing. I'm still doing my old job too so wouldn't have had any time to drive it for the last 6 months anyway. Got a good price and saved a bundle on the running costs Will definately have another one day, when the mortgage is trivial and the instructing is earning me plenty

Thanks to everyone else for their input. So, it looks like it's a power map and a standard, or maybe a power and custom which leans out the power. Will be chatting to a few places about what can be done (tried today but the bu99ers weren't answering their phones ). Already secured a Jabba ARB and will be fitting a PD160 intake as soon as I get it

This is gonna get costly, like the Scoob

Like I said with REVO it's only the SPS1 for the PD130 which is on or off.
