Default TDI pd170 REVO remap

For anyone who is interested!

I have just spoken with Kate at JKM and she has told me that REVO have released remap's for the PD170 engine today!!

However, REVO only mention Audi A4, Seat Altea & VW Passet in their e-mail. There is a chance that the ECU code for the Octavia is the same and therefore the remap would be OK. Anyone with VAG-COM can check this.

Sorry if this post is in the wrong section!

REVO have had the software for a little while now but you're right that Skoda does seem to get little mention in press releases!

For your info, there is a rolling road day at JKM THIS weekend where there will be quite a few OctyII vRS's including three mapped PD170's which will be running. Will be a good day and a great indication as to whose doing what

Have moved this to a more appropriate section.

I've not got either of my vRS's remapped but really tempted!

I've not driven a remapped car either! Is the difference REALLY that much?

I mean, its not a lot of money to spend out for such a large claimed improvement in performance and useablity.

I know this is a Skoda Forum but my last car was an Audi TT 180 BHP another VAG Group engine , I hap it re mapped to 212 BHP.
I can honestly say it made a massive improvement to the car and did not affect fuel consumption in any major way.Made the car a lot easier to drive with a huge improvement in torque.

Mike

Are you confident the map wont at some point fall foul of the DPF issue. If you have a way round the DPF's I have a Superb that could do with a look at !!

I appreciate your first comment will be the Superbs a different animal but people have been getting dpf problems on stock PD170 Octys so somewhere the technology has a common denominator.

Im seriously interested so PM me & I will give you a tel number & we can chat.

need to see some more results before i'd do it to the car.
she's worth to much to me as a 07.

any other rolling road results to share?

stock value of 191 bhp sounds to good to be true.

Just look at it as a jump of 22hp !

We all know RR's are out

So if your's makes 170hp on one then + 22hp = 192.... :-)

Following on the back of the TDI PD170 remap question I recently sent the following by e-mail to Milltek;-

"Dear Milltek Sport,

I have just seen on yours, and one of your stockists websites (JKM in Portsmouth), that along with a cat-back system for the Golf V GT TDI 170 you are now offering a downpipe to allow the removal of the Particulate filter and connect to either a milltek or OEM exhaust.
This would appear to be a milestone in exhaust development as there are many PD 170 engine owners who are unhappy with the DPF or just want to remove it (me included as the owner of an Octavia vRS TDI).
How though do you resolve the issue that the ECU will surely be ‘confused’ with the removal of the DPF. Is there an additional electronic gizmo included in the pack to sort this out?
Yours in anticipation."

To which I recently got the following reply;-

"The DPF bypass pipes are for off highway use.
In order for the ECU to work correctly it will require a custom flash/tune in order to stop excessive smoke and possible running issues.
Any reputable custom VAG Eprom tuner should be able to supply a remap for this application. I hope that helps!"

Has anyone done any work on DPF bypass software?
