| Managed to get food poisoning on Sunday I think from a burger/chip van at a steam fair we went to (can't prove anything) but Sunday night was not good and yesterday wasn't a lot better ....don't feel too bad today but all my joints ache and I am very tired.... lesson learned = stop eating burgers unless I cook them ......don't need that again

| I got food poisoning once as a student - was stuck in bed, barely able to move, sweating like a bee-hatch, only to have a note pushed under my door warning that one of the other students in the building had gone to hospital with meningitis! Oh how my mind raced... ![]()

| Burgers are suspect from the outset for the reason that at the point of mincing any bacteria on the surface of a piece of meat is minced into the middle, so even if (debatable if being transported to a van) kept in a fridge at a proper temperature, if they're not cooked through properly at a temperature high enough to kill off the bacteria, the risk is pretty high. Just thought I'd mention that as we're coming up (hopefully) to BBQ time. FWIW I've never eaten any hot food from a van vendor. It comes from the days when the ice cream van would come round and I'd love the bits of ice in it. It was only later I found that ice forms when it's been thawed partially then refrozen; also not good. Hope you get well soon Rob. ![]() Mo |

| I'm lucky that I have an asbestos digestive system. Never had food poisoning, but have pushed my luck too far sometimes - guess that comes with being a student and pushing sell-by dates to the limit (throw it away if it needs shaving first )Feel sorry for anyone who has to go through that. ![]()
