Hi Everyone I've had my Roomster 3 TDI since July this year and I'm loving it. Great to find a site where I can ask fairly silly questions about my car! The folks at the dealership are terrific but I feel a bit of a "girl" going in and asking the daft questions I sometimes have. So if it's okay with you I'll ask them here! I've already found the answer to one of my questions on Briskoda - is my horn faulty? I've given up using it in favour of dropping the window and yelling, so it was interesting to hear that others have the same issue. Not confident enough to replace it with something better though, so will continue to yell... My question is about the aerial. What do I do with it if I take it to the carwash? It doesn't seem to detach and there's nothing in the manual other than "don't tighten the aerial in the flat-down position". Told you it was stupid! Spotted the black Roomster with the big wheels - fantastic. Might have to! ![]()

| Unscrew arial until it will lay flat along roofline. Don't screw it back up in this position . TBH would not use a mechanical car wash as it will ruin your paintwork...imparting swirls and scratches ![]()

So why can't you tighten the aerial back up in the layed down position ? I never knew or read that you could not and I went through a car wash and that seemed the natural thing to do. It went up straight again afterwards and I've not had any problems with the radio. I'll avoid nipping it up in the down position now, but I'm interested why the no no.

If you forget about it and lift the tailgate it could do a little damage.

I have a Roomster 3 and hence the aerial is indeed at the rear. But by what you are saying the problem is not in tightning up the aerial in the droped position but in the fogetting to raise it again afterwards. I thought it was better just nipped up in the down position as I thought the spinning car wash rollers could flick it up and then try to roll across it the wrong way.
