Hi! I'm on the point of purchasing a pre-reg Roomster 2 1.9TDI at a very good price. BUT it (and all the others the dealer has) doesn't have the third rear headrest. As from time to time I'll be travelling 5-up, I do want the missing headrest. While it's only £45 as a factory-fit option, it looks as if the actual seats with and without the headrest are different. The salesman is going to try ringing around dealers to see if he can do a swap, but I'm not too optimistic. Any ideas? Or anyone with a recent Roomster with 'Stripes' upholstery who has a middle seat head rest they never need, and are within 100 miles of Southampton, and would be willing to swap for a 'non headrest seat' and £50, say? How optimistic can you get? ;-) ;-) Stuart

| I ordered the 3rd rear headrest on my Scout but they forgot to fit it. For me it's not a major issue so I took some other bits for free in exchange but I was informed they could have retrofitted it if required. Have a good feel of the top of the middle rear seat and I think the internals are there - they would just need to punch through the upholstery and fit the platic guide loop thingies for it to work.

When I went back to the dealer this afternoon, they'd come to the same conclusion; am letting them do it properly, with plastic inserts around the hole. Should get it within a week. See my new thread! Stuart

DId you ever get the headrest fitted? I've just encountered the same problem. The dealer is not sure it will fit my seat although there do seem to be 2 holes ready to take a headrest.

Yes. A local car upholstery expert did it. Not quite as perfect as factory fit, but far cheaper than a whole new seat. The 'tubes' ARE there ready; the seat cover has to be cut and the holes made neat. I'd told the dealer that no headrest meant no car purchased, so there was no problem. 5000 miles in with the Roomster now, and very happy indeed. Stuart

Thanks for that info. I'll order the bits that make up the headrest.
