Just ordered a brand new Skoda Superb Elegance 170 TDI DSG.
Got a nice deal here in sweden with pretty much all the extras.

I changed from a Volvo S40 2.0D MY2008 which felt pretty cramped in comparison to the Superb.
I really hope that the Superb has the same good build quality as my Volvo.

just joined up after getting a Superb CR170 DGS Elegance in Steel Gray on the "Motability " scheme, , lovely motor but still to get to grip with the user manuals which I find to be a bit of a challenge.
One thing that does puzzle me and which I have been unable to solve, the passenger seat seems to change its adjustments when I return to the car, most notably, the back of the seat has moved back to halfway to the horizontal.
I am right in thinking that the passenger seat has no memory??.

Been a member on cupra.net for a long time and also on the golfmkivs.
Bought the car damaged as been brought up in the motor trade and over the last few years repaired a lot of VAG cars so know my way about them pretty well (always plenty to learn though ).
Car wont be ready for a little while as got so source parts (passenger wing, bonnet, front bumper headlights and no doubt a few other bits) but will be ready as soon as i can.
Hope i can be a decent source of info to a few people and know that i will pick up a lot from everyone on here and heard a lot of good things about this site. Be good to find out if there is anyone about the swansea area who is on here also?

Just wanted to ask a quick question on here while im introducing as will be first on the list is which suspension to go for on my estate (had FSD's with Eibach pro springs on the leon and was happy with the ride). Is the rear suspension setup the same on the mk5/6 golf gti as the octavia estate?

The road tax is good too at only £90 per year. First of all you thank you for your help in easing me into my first Skoda - I've just bought a Fabia Estate 1.4 TDI and your postings on this car and Fabias in general were a great help. I've had it for a week now and love it!

I'm sorry to ask for help in my in my first posting...I've just got back from the garage with my partner's Fabia VRS (06 plate 53000 on the clock). The traction control warning light keeps coming on after a few miles driving - (about 7 miles on the motorway and 4 miles on other roads). I'm not sure if it's distance or time related at the moment or whether that's a complete red herring! It disappears once the car is restarted.

My local garage put it on a diagnostic machine and it came up with the following fault code: 18265 load signal error message from EMU P1857 intermittent. They think it's a fault on the EMU - they're not sure whether it will need to be replaced or whether the faulty component can be changed.

I would be grateful for any advice you could give me.

Thought it best I did it now, seeing as I have taken loads of advice from lots of you on here and read loads of the threads to end up with the VRS SE of mine in the customised state it is in now. read my signature for the changed. most of you will agree they are good, but I know that some will say otherwise. (why have an SE and change it? it should be kept stock)

Well I wanted a new car, I wanted the SE, I wanted to upgrade and mod, and honestly If i intended to sell the car then it would ned to be kept stock to keep value, but I don't intend getting rid of it. So I am having fun. More mods to follow later on once the car has lost some more value and the bank is replenished after these mods.

New to the site, thought I would join as after spending months deciding what car to get, I took out my GF's Mums BF's Vrs and I loved It. I'll be honest I'm not huge on the exterior, but this one Is silver, 26k on the clock, immaculate, full service history and well looked after. Its been remapped and got a K&N In it so it pulls soso well! He's looking for about 5.5K for it, does that sound good to you guys?

If I can ask aswell, I know theres quite some body roll on this car, whats the best way to combat this?

Not going too mad with it, but it's currently lowered on coilovers, on 19" helios wheels off a Phaeton. It's been remapped with a K&N panel filter, and I've got a spare grille that's being painted black at the minute. I ordered an octavia estate in june for "estimated delivery" in "mid september". Just found out an hour ago that the "revised date" is week 3 2011!!!! Trawling some of the other message boards it would appear that these "unexpected " delays have been prevalent all this year. One thing ****es me off more than others is this absence of honest explanation from the company via the dealer network. Marks out of ten for customer relations - not very many. Most people order a car because that's the one they want. If the company levelled with you up front most people (and me) would stick with their choice. An analogy is with the airlines lying about the delays to one's flight. All it does is generate ungrumpled customers.

Why can't they see that??

Oh and now I have to pay for a service and an MOT that I wasn't expecting. Grrrr!

hope you are all well. I just bought a VRS yesterday.

I have always hankered after another 130 PD car after my Audi A4 (B5). The VRS ticked all the right boxes...

The car is Silver 2006, done 60k miles and has already been remapped to 170bhp. Car is in mint condition and i bought it for £5700
