If you want to join the official Meet it starts at Dover Ferry Port in the early hours of Thursday 13th Sept and Finishes at Dover again for about midnight Thursday 20th/Friday 21st. (so make sure you book that time off work )

I have just booked the hotel room for me and Paige, and everyone should all book the same hotel.

I recommend you find a group of 4 of you and booking a 4 Bedroom option, which is 2 Double Bed rooms sharing a bathroom and Toilet.
If you are also driving you can park in the secure underground carpark for £10.80 per car per night
The 4 bed option plus parking 1 one car for the 7 nights Arrive 13th Sept and Leave 20th Sept costed £400, prices may change if you dont book early

Oh yeah it has a Bar and Tram Stop right outside

As the Original Thread Starter I have decided to post this message:--

Looks like it's Snowing quite hard around the N E of England. Harrogate is White over and there is no signs of the snow easing up for Quite a while.

So, Whitby is quite a trip for me and others are travelling from afar, Brimma and soft scoop from the Lincoln area and Chris880 for over the boarder in Lancashire, Sharkrider is coming from the North West and others from the North East. I would hate anyone getting stuck in the snow or worse having an accident, even setting off and then having to turn back.

IS the Meet to go ahead on the grounds of safety and the fact we'll be sat in our cars freezing our nuts off (ema_jane is excluded from that comment) Shall the meet be postponed for a later date,

Please, Please post your comments and any decision by any one at this late stage to pull out will be fully understood.

Whitby may escape the weather but getting there may be a different thing

east coast run 31st march 2012 this is a run primaraly for mondeo st owners but every one is welcome regardless of make model.

details at the moment are a little vauge as i still have to drive the route and get post codes mileage etc but what we do know is,

sat 31st march
meet at sandringham norfolk at the queens residence pe35 6eh ( well almost ) for 10.30am
leave in convoy at 11am heading the 58 miles to cromer nr27
arrive at cromer roughly 1 - 1 1/2 hrs later
1 - 1 1/2 hours for lunch ( there is in cromer chips shops, subway, cafes, etc plenty for lunch)
then for the hardcore amongst us we can then continue to yarmouth.

i currently have 13 people lined up for this and would like the list to grow please add your name if you are interested.

Did a track day for the first time with Javelin last friday it was quite well organised but it was wet all day, plenty of race cars on track so it was good fun trying to mix it with a few. I think the car works better when it is wet with the softer standard suspesion when the faster track cars have less of an advantage, here a little clip of the day

Righty ho, this started out by a few fellow members wanting to go for a spin in my car to see what the Exhaust/Suspension is like, but a few are expressing an interest in a mini meet of some kind so lets see if we can get something arranged.

Looking at meeting around Milton Keynes/Northampton/Towcester area in around 2 weeks time, maybe a Saturday? Just a feeler at the moment, see who fancies it . .

I thought I'd post here as well as the national thread, as the race is happening in the south east As last year I've managed to negotiate a preferential rate for forum members for a limited number of hospitality places at this event.

James and I go every year to the DTM at Brands Hatch its a brilliant event with top drivers and cars, we use At Pole Position Hospitality who really look after us every year.

Dubs mania!

Dubs Mania is now in it's 4th year and caters for all VW's, Audi's Seat's & Skoda's and is to be held on the 2nd & 3rd June at Weston Park, Shropshire (nr. Telford) and has over 1,000 acres of space!

The Event has a massive Show & Shine and Display Vehicle arena, Trade Stands, Autojumble, Club Displays, Fun Rides, Licensed Bar, Food Stalls and Evening Entertainment in the large Marquee.

All Pre-booked Cars into the Show & Shine will receive FREE Weekend Entry into the event, but hurry as these free passes are limited.

The event also runs alongside Retro Car Mania which is open to all Retro Cars, Classics & Performance Classics so there are 2 events in one!

Cumbrian Run 2012

Well as 2012 has arrived and some need advance notice I thought it best to announce the date.

Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th June 2012.

The meet will consist of driving the best roads in the area as well as camping, good company, food, drink and good times and laughs.

The driving part will be spread over the two days with a late afternoon/evening route on the Saturday and then a morning route on the Sunday. This will allow time for people to travel up on the Saturday, or if you prefer arrive on the Friday night for camping too. Then after the route on Sunday there will be some free time for you and back to the campsite. You can then either make your way home or stay for camping that night where a truely fun evening will take place.

Of course if you prefer not to do both days drives then you're more than welcome to attend just the Saturday or Sunday routes. It's a family friendly weekend on the whole (although camping may not be, judging by last year and humour content of chat room lol) so all are welcome.

A lunch stop will be incorporated into one of the drvies (poss both, will confirm nearer the time), and also my famous stop at a local ice cream farm.

So if you're interested place your name down below on both the driving part and the camping.

Weston Super Mare Meet No15: Sat 31st March and 1st April 2012

As the recent Weston Super Mare meets have started spreading over the whole weekend, I have decided to actually arrange the next WSM meet as a weekender

Saturday will be spending the day at Weston Super Mare Carvery, miniature Railway, Pier and Beach and Sunday will be similar to an old favourite of mine the BRTTS meet, a casual drive along the north Coast road of Devon, including the Porlock Hill, a nice posh lunch, and some twisty Exmoor roads.

Saturday
The plan this time is for Everyone to meet at Weston Sea Front Car Park by the miniature railway about 10:00am
and of course the usual pre meet Convoys
from the North, Easton Gordano Services (Junction 19 M5) at 9:00am
- can leave at 9:15am for a casual drive down to the beach
from the south, Exeter Services (formally Granada services) at 9:00am
- Can leave at 9.15am for a leisurely cruise up the motorway

This time round we will all park for the whole day on the sea front and people can spend the day with us or do there own thing.

First I plan a casual stroll along the sea front to spend a couple of hours on the pier.
Then off for a late lunch at everyone favourite haunt the Claremont Vaults for about 1:30pm, after this is a casual walk back to the cars and relax for a few hours on the beach or pier (depending on weather)

About 5pm I plan a trip to 2 Cider Farms, West Croft Cider and then Rich's Cider Farmhouse.

People staying for the weekend or can stay late can then join in with the Brean Caravan activities where they have an on site bar/pub grub or can bring along a local takeaway.

If you do plan to stay for the weekend please arrange your caravans/caravan shares through Beachside Holiday Park http://www.beachsideholidaypark.co.uk/

Sunday
Departure time will depend on what I say the night before, I will assume we will leave the caravan site about 9:30am.

The Main activity today will be driving the lovely Exmoor

We will then make a couple of short stops at the Skoda Graveyard (probably closed), Minehead, and Porlock Hill, before stopping for a posh nosh lunch at The Culbone, http://www.theculbone.com/

After lunch a nice casual drive via Lynton and Lydmouth, Simonsbath, Dunster
(Tour Guide Devontopia will be organising the drive after lunch on Sunday )

And finally Sunday night we will end up back at the Caravan site, as there is bound to be a few people staying in Caravans on the Sunday night as well.

How Fast are Briskoda?

This could be great, it could be carange, or it could be still born but here goes anyways!

Motorsport Vision (who own Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Oulton, and more) are now running "How Fast" events at Bedford Autodrome.

You get an hour long practise session to learn the circuit
Then timing gear is attached to your car and you get an outlap, 2 timed laps, and an in lap to set the quickest possible time.
All for the bargain price of £99.

A convenient midlands location.
A (relatively) cheap price (which i may be able to negotitate down a bit)
A day friendlier on cars than full trackdays.
A truly competitive edge to the day.

What could be better to finally put all banter to rest and find out which car & driver combination really is the fastet on the site.

Having spoken to MSV if we could get a minimum of 18 cars they would be happy to arrange a Briskoda skoda-only event too.

A friend and I are looking to do one of Club MSV Novice only trackday (Brands Hatch - 3rd Feb)

Looking to get peoples experiences on the company and if people have ever done one of their Novice only trackdays before?

Being my first trackday, what should I expect? How should I prepare my car? Slightly worried about my car as its my daily driver (don't plan on driving like a tit but still worried about damaging my car!)

Thoughts, advice and experiences would be great!

Rolling road day

As the title suggests I am organising a rolling road shoot out day. There is only vag's coming with us and the majority are all friends. There is a couple of spaces left so I thought if anybody else would like to join us then please let me no.

It's going to be towards the end of the month and will cost £30 for 2 runs with a print out. The place where it is can also offer advice on mapping and tuning as he is big into his vag tuning.

Ive searched google images and the first picture i got was of an aardvark giving birth so i wasnt holding out too much hope!

Santa Pod 2012 RWYB Street Challenge

As I didn't manage to make a single trip to Santa Pod last year (bad times!) I've decided I need more of a reason to go! Having a look around the RWYB website they do what is called a "Street Challenge" Street Challenge Section

What is it?

It's a table that tracks your best 1/4 mile time at Pod' over the year and compares you to other people who have joined to take part.

What's the point?

Not only does it make it easier to track your best time but you can see where your car stands in relation to other competitors and also there are prizes for the quickest car.

What do you need?

A street legal car or bike, that really is it! The definition of what constitutes a "street legal car or bike" is at the Race Director's discretion but as a basic guide a vehicle must have a valid MOT and treaded tyres ("treaded tyres" include all DOT & E Marked tyres), completely slick tyres are not allowed. Removal of a headlight for increased airflow, extra wide/narrow tyres, use of race fuel and NOS systems are allowed. You'll also need to be wearing a helmet if your car will be travelling over 110mph at the finish line.

You don't need to have a silly fast car to compete, I see it as a bit of fun, I know I will never have the quickest car there. I'm going to sign up for it and hopefully do 4-5 RWYB days next year.

Anyone else fancy giving it a go? A bit of friendly competition and also can meet some new like minded people

Will post this on a couple of forums I'm on, hopefully a few people will fancy a go at this too

Ran an excellent route with Pistonheads today that I hope to replicate with Briskoda.

I was down at Donny yesterday,weather was a bit hit and miss,wet in the morning dry afternoon but good fun.there was quite a few race cars about and the little fabia when ok and running sweet now the remap has been removed.
