Hi all, I've downloaded a voucher for the White Rabbit giving free drinks over the summer period. I'll take it in to work tomorrow & run a few copies off. They're valid till 31/08/10 so you maybe able to use them at the next meet if we were to have it at the end of the month like this one? I've used these types of voucher for complimentary meals before & they work just fine! Basically the way they work is that you use one per party (in other words, spoon number) This one entitles everyone that's having a main meal to a free drink from the Summer drinks menu. The drinks are as follows:
Bottle of J2 O, pint of Amstel lager, bottle of Bulmers Pear or Apple Cider, Classic Pimm's, Orginal Pimm's or Pim Pom. All you need to do is put a name, address & email on it & hand it over when ordering.
If you fill them in with details that actually exist......... they'll email you & ask if you want to become a friend of the pub. If you agree, they then email you offers such as this one now & again. I've found them to be quite handy so far & they haven't bombarded me with junk either!
I'm aiming to be there before 7.30 if anyone wants to delay ordering grub & use the vouchers for free drinks?

Myself and two other Briskoda members have booked a four person chalet for the 17th-20th September at the Sunparks just down the road from the Nurburgring and we are now looking for a 4th person to make up the numbers (otherwise it gets a bit dear for the three of us).

The cost per person for the chalet is a bargain £93 for 3 nights. You then have the option of bringing your own car or travelling there in the car as a passenger with the three of us.

Costs wise, if you come with us as a passenger it will be around £230 for the chalet, ferry, contribution towards petrol, food costs and contribution towards full European breakdown recovery (which we'll need if we've only got the one car). Add to that however much it costs you in fuel to get down to Gravesend in Kent where we will be leaving from.

Or if you bring your own car one of us can passenger with you to share your petrol costs, but if you want to take it on the Ring you're looking at more money in laps and petrol, so possibly budget £300 or more.

Don't feel you have to bring your own car to enjoy it, you can passenger in the car we are going in while it's on the Ring, or even hire a Ring toy out there if you're feeling flush

I would like to know why on this Forum that there seams to be no meets where our cars get driven
isnt the reson why we buy our VRS is that there a quick cross country?
Being a member of a few forums that do go for drives it is a little disapointing that the forum for one
of the best, quick AtoB cars out there. That ther is no drives out!
I havent intended to offend anyone by asking this question but it had been bugging me!

I am quite happy to organise a drive out if people want me to.

Lap times for an Octavia TDI VRS on the Nurburgring?

I was wondering what a good time for the Octavia II VRS TDI was on the Nurburgring with the stock 170bhp and also if possible the Fabia in stock and remapped configurations.

The reason I'm asking is that I decided not to take my Octavia down to the track and instead hired a 200bhp Clio which I was initially disappointed with as I thought so much power in a little car was going to be seriously nippy but it didn't really feel it. Most of that is because I'm used to the TDI engine just powering through the gears with ease whereas the Clio needed to be revved really hard to squeeze the performance out of it. However it was very nimble through the corners and was producing good times which has made me curious what the Octavia can do.

Over 500 VAG cars expected and several magazines will be in attendance.

Runs from 7-7:30pm til late and cost is £2 per person (not per car) to get in. Food and drink available at the Kentagon. Please use the main (not paddock) entrance.

I'll be up there with another Octy VRS from Briskoda so if any more Skodas fancy joining us let me know and we'll meet at the Portobello Arms about 7:30 and go in together, they want to keep clubs and groups etc. parked together.

If there is good feedback from the VAG community as a whole this will go ahead

Price is likely to be £149 for a full day open pit lane on the Indy circuit for uptp 60 places.

we would be more than happy to host a rolling road,

The prices are as follows.

10 or less cars is £45 per car (each car has printouts)
10 or more cars is £35 per car. (each car has printouts)
We have a maximum of 35 – 40 cars

We usually host them on a weekend which ever date is suitable for you guys, we like an early start of about 9-9.30am

There is a food van onsite if you all get…peckish and some incredible cars for you guys to look at.

Was a real good day last time. Feel free to come down to spectate if you don,t want to go on the Dyno.

I have now booked Saturday 9th October at Motoscope in Northallerton. Initialy i will say its a 1pm start so please aim to be there from 12 noon in order to sort out payments and running order. If we fill it like last time it will shift to a 10am start. I have posted on other forums so the more the merrier.

Hello Peeps, im setting up a meet/rolling road day for the 21.08.2010, the more people who attend the cheaper it will be.
If we get 25+ people it will be £30 each. You car wil get 3 runs and a print of the current output of the car. There will be food on site to purchase and so on.
It's a chance for people to meet and see whats out there on the modded car scence.
It's me who is setting everything up so any questions just give me a shout, £10 deposit is needed for people who are wanting to use the rollers, this can be paypal, cash, or what ever, people wanting to watch are welcome. lets bring the north east together and have a laugh.

Well, as this isn't in Plymouth I am hoping more can come.

The place I get my nitrous refilled has just had a brand new 4wd Dyno Dynamics rolling road fitted. The place is only 2 miles east off the M5 near Cullompton, junction 28.

Anyone up for a rolling road day there? Would need a minimum of 15 I think to make it worth it. Price will be £25 per car if we can get 15 cars along. Date to be arranged, but thinking about mid to late October time to let the show season / holiday season wind down. Shall say 9th October or 23rd October. Have done a poll to choose.

2011 Road trip - the oh **** we're going to die tour of Europe

Just guaging interest and giving everyone who is interested fair warning that there will be (probably) another international roadtrip next year. You don't have to go in a Skoda, nor does your car have to be capable of xxx mph.

Although there is a poll, I reserve the rite to take no notice of it whatsoever should I choose

Following on from this years little tour, which imo went pretty smoothly, I will not be booking any hotels etc but will investigate places along the route when it is finalised and i have an idea of numbers, this will also allow people to tailor to their own budget/ specification should they require.

Costs:

I would estimate that on average we spent £75 per night per person this year, that included a shared bedroom, breakfast, decent evening meal and the odd drinky-poo (and what Kaiser knocked back was certainly odd )

Fuel costs, you know your own car I will tell you the mileage. ( please make allowances for driving at speed, up and down hills etc)

As option 1 However col de turini, col de bonnette, col d'izoard, mont cenis, col d'isoran, petite, grand st bernard, simplon pass, are all removed (or Route Napoleon is removed), route continues to Genoa for an overnight, early ferry to Corsica, 2 nights on Corsica to take in the route of the Tour de Corse then ferry back to Genoa and overnight in Genoa. Mileage is about the same but adds 4 nights and ferry cost to Cosica (approx £100) (Keeping in all options adds 1 night and 200 miles approx)

Entry is £2 per person (not per car), use the main gate next to the Thistle hotel and park behind the hospitality suites.

Caught the 10pm ferry from Dover on the Saturday night after customs had decided we looked dodgy and dragged us all in for a look see :mad:though what they thought I would be smuggling out of England in an mx5 is anyones guess. So an mx5 (PostmanPat) a modded fabia vRS (Kaiser_B ) and an Evo X (SimonSheil) landed in a rain soaked France around 1 am. Apart from not being able to see Belgium road markings and all the street lights being turned off it was an uneventfull trip down to Todtnau to the Alpine coaster and to pick up our final compadre in his Octavia vRS D (Irin). Naturallly the cheapo camera played up so no footage there then!

By 11 it was onward and upward to a very sleepy and almost closed Wilderswill. With just a to the Tremelbach fall to complete the days activity 30 hours after leaving sunny Bradford found us drinking Grosse Bier at a delightful Pizeria and resting our heads as the only guests in a small gasthoff.

Monday dawned slighty overcast but looking reasonably promising as we headed off for Meiringen and the Reichenbach falls, Swapping Valleys however produced low cloud so it was onward to the Grimsel Pass. 30 - 60 cm of snow had been forecast and by half way up the north step we found out just how accurate the weather service was, with snow plows running in loops on the upper roads and the parking lot under a foot of snow, all this with visibility down to yards in Blizzard conditions, the rear wheel drive light weight mx-5 was looking like a candidate for the snow socks. Dropping onto the Southern Step increased visability and afetr a couple of traverses we where out into bright sunshine, With the Furka pass laid oput in front of us it was decided to take a short detour to the Belvedere for a stroll in the Rhone glacier.

Retracing our steps we where soon headed over the Nufenen pass for Airolo, the weather remained clear and fine if a little chilly at altitude, but by now the roof was off!

The next 3 days where always going to be on the long side, covering large mileages.

Tuesday it was up and over the San Bernardino, down the Splugen

along the Maloja, over the Abula, down the Ofen and over the Fluela, which was in 30 degree sun but stopping the car and getting out was like walking down the chiller section of a supermarket!

The plan was then to take the Umbrail to the top of the stelvio and then the East step to the Reschen, but Lance Armstrong and his mates had decided the Umbrail was to be shut so it was a direct route over the Reschen pass and into Imst. Where due to more poor planning and equally bad web sites the longest Alpine coaster was also found to be shut :mad:

After a very good nights kip following a 7 course evening meal (68 half board) the TimselJoch beckoned and shortly after the Jaufenen pass, with a short stop at the top for piccies:

An uneventfull drive lead us to Bolzano and onto the Dolomites. Via many many passes we found Pian and our Hotel for the night.

The following day we completed our figure 8 in the Dolomites with a further 8 passes

Finally making it back to Bolzano for 1 pm and heading straight for the Autostrada over the Brenner pass and onto Berchtesgarden.

Friday was a day of rest and a visit to the Eagles Nest, Hitlers Tea house and 50th Birthday present

Right we have quite a few N.E members now, so I think a big meet is in order.............

I reckon a run is basically out the question simply due to the fact there will hopefully be far to many cars to accomendate this,We are spread out over a massive distance , reaching from Ashington to Redcar good 60 odd miles..... so heres a few ideas
