Default 94 qualitaire estate 42,000 miles

Hi there,
I posted a few weeks ago about a siezed front brake caliper. Had to replace it in the end and is fine now. Only other slight problem now is a smell of petrol from around the petrol cap and another very slight petrol smell from an area in front of the petrol tank. Can anyone tell me if the access to the fuel pump or filter is from the inside of the car or if theres any known common things that I can check.
I bought this car with only 42 k genuine miles on it to replace a dead VW to get me through three or four months. Would like to sort this out if I can. Any idea's please..

Access to the pump is through an inspection plate under the rear seat. The filter is tucked up between the tank and the heat shield and can be tricky if the car isn't on a ramp.

I think a Qualitaire is a special edition of the GLXIe. Like Silverline, Blackline, Flairline. And I think there was a Favorit CD with a CD player or something?

Suppose it is possible a fuel pipe has perished or a securing clip has worked loose?

Thanks for the info. I found it this afternoon. It will have to go on the ramp to check it out. Strange place to put it I thought as I cant see an inspection plate under the seats ?. Will have another look because the smell is coming from that area. Probably rubber pipe. I want to MOT it in May and get rid of it as its only a stop gap.
Thanks again for your help.

From what you say I'm wondering if the flexipipe part of the filler neck is maybe perished, or missing a Jubilee clip.
