The Favorit is all Skoda design, and the next model, the Felicia, was based on this (not the Golf as commonly believed). The Favorit was designed before VW owned Skoda, and many attribute the good quality of the Favorit as a catalyst for VW purchasing Skoda. Being a 92 model yours is a Pre-VW model.

Luckily the Favorit has been well used in rallys, so stuff should be around for them. You may have more luck asking this question at SKODA FORUM :: The International Skoda Community Forum as they're probably more into these cars and the rallying scene. The Favorit won outright in the 2 litre category FIA world championships 1994, but mainly because they never crashed and never broke down compared with all the other cars, rather than having amazing first place lap times.

As for a Polo GT engine fitting, it will definitely NOT be a direct fit, but *may*fit with some work.

There's masses of info on making a Favorit into a stage car; IIRC there was even a 1-make series for them back in the day.

To be fair though the Favorit was only 1300cc against the 2 litre opposition, I remember it getting in the top 10 on the Acropolis Rally though

The Felicia was more competitive taking several overall F2 victories despite only having a 1500 and later 1600 engine.

IIRC a mk2 Astra cage fits, have a word with Youngsyd, a mate of his built a Favorit rally car a couple of years ago so he should be able to help you out

wishbones off a felicia. there stronger (on that note, i wonder if you could fit a felicia sub-frame with a 22mm ARB?)

then some HP rally shocks are good for tarmac use.
