Default Area for the next Scottish Meet

Hi all,

After the first Scottish Briskoda Meet where two cars turned up in Perth on Sunday, I have taken on feedback to see how we can get more cars to attend and the next Skoda Meet will be taken on a vote basis to see what area is suitable.

The problem I can see is that Scotland as a region is huge so many folks are located all over from Aberdeen, The Borders, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Highlands, so finding the perfect meet location is going to be a problem.

Perth was suggested because it was central and easily suitable for folk in the region to attend. An hour from Edinburgh and the same from Aberdeen and maybe a wee bit more from Glasgow.

To make the next meet more suitable for folks to attend, can we suggest areas which are good to meet at and convienent for everybody.

I do alot of long journeys on a regular basis so I don't mind travelling for a Brisky meet if lots of people are going to be there.

A couple of suggestions: how about arranging a meet around some sort of event, eg if there's a rally/show or similar then it might be easier for people to attend (I like to have weekends away from home for events so don't mind travelling a distance for things like that).

Also, coastal locations are always good, especially in summer

I've recently added a thread in the group buys section about Angel Tuning. Planning on getting my car remapped there soon and was interested to see if anyone else wanted to at the same time so we get group discount. Could turn that into a meet if people are interested? Going to get it done at their Scottish Branch in Troon so it is by the sea and lots of places to park.

Cheers

Sounds a idea, I'm not personally but would attend for the meet if other folks were up for it.

One of the main problems with this site is its size. I have always felt that regional sub forums are a great idea, and not just for meets like this part of the site but a more general split.
But the current vote on Scottish members locations and information in this part of the site are a step forward.
If there is enough interest then regional meets are the way to go, but it looks like it would have to be a more general meet as suggested perth etc
