| Good day out - had to leave early as son was needing fed! Craigs Furby was looking good, but I don't think I could do that much work too often. Might give the Octy a jetwash this month ![]()

| Thanks to you all. I learned so much today, and i can assure you the effort is well worth it. The **** that was stuck to the rear end from the exhaust was amazing. Great to see all you Skodas in one place. |

| Pity I couldn't get over to Star, the results look well worth it, I've tried various products this weekend on my fabia, but nothing like the shine from yours, what products did you use, and was it all done by PC? Do you think you'd be confident doing it yourself with a PC?

| It's a long story, I'll be posting a guide soon once i've slept off 12hr nightshifts. The car was pressure washed, foamed, pressure washed off then foamed and hand washed, this was just so we could clay bar it. This was the step that took much longer due to the number of bonded contaminents, tar soot etc. The car was then masked and polished using Menzerna Intensive polish with the PC orbital tool, this was to remove light scratches and all the swirl marks from when i used a sponge. Next stage was again using the PC with Menzerna final glaze. Followed be a final hard coat applied by hand. This stuff was Menzerna Full metal jacket and should last between 4 & 6 months giving good protection as long as i keep washing it and topping it with a quick coat of Optimum car wax. It took so long as the car was in quite a state, even though it had already been washed twice that week. I can't thank the guys on the day enough for what they taught me. Rich used the PC to do the intensive polishing as it ws the most aggressive product , after that he handed over the PC and it really was a joy to use. As long as the surface was lubricated by the polish and the PC kept on the move all was fine. The guide I'll produce will be a journal of the day spent cleaning " blackmagic paint" but for more detailed advice for your own colour you can contact Rich at www.polishedbliss.co.uk where you'll find much more detailed guides on car care. As a guide the paint and clear coat thickness averaged around 125 microns before we started and the intensive polish applied by PC to remove the swirls reduced the average to 123 microns, but now if looked after, it shouldn't need the intensive polish again for a long time. The colour of the car now looks so deep and the flake in the paint is incredible, will post pictures when i find the lead for the camera. I'm so happy with the results i've just ordered a PC from Autopia in the States Last edited by Glider; 20-03-2006 at 05:31. |

| Beedie, it did look as if your clutch was slipping and that would effect the figures, as he told me it might effect mine as mine is slipping also. You just dont know how your car has been driven by the last owner, it might even have had a tunning box when last owner had it. |
